3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 CapFlu (3798) - Victoria, - NOV 26, 2006
(Draught) On tap at Earls, Victoria. I was so pleasantly surprised. I really didn’t expect the smokiness and cocoa flavours. Its a tad thin in texture but considering there are so few places with a decent "house brand" I’ll gladly take this.
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20 jrizko (42) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 25, 2012
UPDATED: MAR 29, 2012 (First Taste, Earls South Edmonton Common, Draught Pint, Unknown ABV, Cellar Temp, 24/03/12 #22.)
Appearance (3/5): Dark cola color in the glass, with a small, quickly diminishing, off white head with good lacing.
Aroma (4/5): Dominant burnt grains and lemon, with notes of orange, cardboard, and perfume.
Taste (4/10): Moderately sour and lightly bitter, with a short, bitter finish. Tastes very watered down.
Palate (1/5): Medium/light body, lively carbonation, extremely watery texture. Honestly feels like carbonated water.
Overall (7/20): Honestly I was surprised at how bad this was. Tasted extremely watered down and was very flavorless. Looking at the other reviews, I can’t help but wonder if I got a bad batch or something. If you think that is the case, drop me a line.
Drinkability: 4/5. Character: 2/5. Buy Again: Definitely No.
