Draft at Earls in Banff. Amber body with a small white head. Very mild aroma with light malt and muted hops. Flavour is similarly mild and muted, with a light bitterness throughout but not much in the way of hop flavour. Mild malt presence. Average palate. Underwhelming.<P> This is my 1000th Canadian Rating! Its a silly numbers thing I know, but I am pretty excited to reach this ’round number’ milestone. I had planned to save it for something highly rated but my recent trip west has resulted in way more Canadian ratings than anticipated. Yay! The beer was pretty mediocre but it came after a spectacular day of visiting Lake Louise and hiking in the Canadian Rockies. It was pretty spectacular, and I suddenly see why people would actually consider living in Alberta!

Amber color; medium sized head. Light sugary aroma, a bit papery. Same for the flavor, with light residual sweetness and a light astringency; ordinary bitterness. Quite boring.

On draft at Earls in Burlington Ontario. Pours a copper colour with a white head and some spidery lacing. Smells malty and a tiny bit of hop. Taste is also rather malty and a touch of hop too.

My pint is bubbly and amber and at least today I got a beet with a cap on it - light tan with a bit of sticky stuff. I have incredible gas right now - in quantity and potency. If I cut loose I might puke on my pizza. But the reverse bubble-back is killing me. Grainy with a weak fruit, nothing here to stimulate nostril joy. Unsweet caramel, grainy, some bitterness - another subpar review on my part. One dimensional brew.

Light bready herb aroma. Pale amber, low head. A bit bread, light roast, light herbal hops. Light body Fresh, but, well - light and nothing special

On tap at Earls. Kind of reddish colour. Crisp and clean. Nothing notable here. Refreshing but unoriginal.

Tap in Vancouver. Just okay. Better than others I had on tap during my trip but, not a great Pale Ale to me. Deep golden color. NIce head. Not enought hops for me to call it a Pale. Where are they? There’s a little bit but, not enought! More of an amber ale taste to me. Not bad but, not great.

A - Roasted caramel A - Dark amber with short lasting creamy head T - Slightly sweet and dry. I would have liked more hops P - Full bodied with soft carbonation O - I liked it. I am always pleased when a restaurant has its own beer and its good

On draught at Earl’s South Edmonton. Clear amber pour with a weak white foam, little retention. Aroma was sweet, caramel and malts. Taste was quite smooth, grainy and sweet, but very bland.
