4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
In short: A rustic tart witbier for the Saison lover. Great beer.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Cloudy yellow body topped by a small white head
In long: Nose is rustic, countryside, some pineapples, some bananas. Taste has plenty of fresh hay, crisp wheat, countryside wild flowers, some fresh bananas, strong rustic yeast character, fruit salad, lime. Finish is both quite tart and quite dry. A fantastic thirst quencher and it was confirmed by the brewer that this is basically a Saison except that it uses wheat, I’d personally classify it as a Saison but I’m no admin. The beer and pizza are really worth the detour at Earth. Some serious stuff happening there, I’m telling you this guy ain’t joking, the rear bumper sticker on his car probably reads "This is the back of my car”.

On tap at Earth while meeting up with everyone to start RBSG. Pours an almost milky golden color with a thin white head. Lightly funky saison yeast, hay, toast, wheat, and some almost lemony aromas. Chewy wheat, smooth with touches of grain and loads of sweet wheat. Nice musk on the finish.

This poured a very cloudy light straw yellow with a white head. Aroma was of yeast, belgian spices, some light fruit too. Flavor was a lot more in the face than expecting, nice mellow fruit and spices. Decent White.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught at Earth at the Thursday pre-RBSG gathering. Poured a milky yellow with a small white foamy head. Aroma of lemon zest, bready, coriander. Fuller bodied, especially for a wit, fizzy, acidic, aftertaste has a slight burn from the fizz and acidity. Flavor of bad lemons on the end with dry bread and citrus on the intial sip. Pretty solid all around.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Growler thanks to Dickinsonbeer at RBSG Philly 2011. Pours a clear straw with big carbonation. Nice floral nose with saison yeast. Gets a little eggy and eventually sulphury. Taste is bitter, bright, gets a bit astringent. Decent.
