3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 puzzl (3093) - New York, USA - MAR 23, 2009
Tap at the brewpub. Man, what a disappointment from Tom... I KNOW this guy can make a good saison or farmhouse beer, I’ve had at least 5 of them from Heavyweight. What happened? Super sweet, underattenuated. Oddly fruity flavor, muddy yeast, very thin body. A touch of noble hops, with a lightly salty, parsley nose. Some sweet bubble-gum. Something really off-putting in the flavor. The yeast on this just sucks.

On tap at the Earth Bread Brew Pub. Poured a medium and cloudy golden color with a smaller sized white head. Aromas of citrus, yeasty, and spices. A little fruty too. Tastes of fruitiness, spices, citrus, and honey sweetness.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 JoeMcPhee (6966) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 18, 2009
Golden cloudy beer with a thin white head. Aroma is a little bit spicy and lightly fruity. There is a lot of muddled fruity flavour over an overly sweet maltiness. It’s actually quite a bit like Leffe, which isn’t exactly praise. The spice picks up a bit as it warms, but it’s still not really a saison. Too sweet and comes across underattenuated.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours unclear gold with a white head. Fruity aroma, notes of pear and apricot, as well as spices. The flavor has a very nice and restrained tartness, fruit cocktail, honey, and light spices. Very tasty.

Poured a hazy golden color with a medium sized, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus fruits, some toffee, earthy yeast, coriander, and orange peel. Taste of citrus, lemon, yeast, white pepper, honey, faint tartness, and a lightly sweet finish.
