Dark brown red color with a medium sized, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of spices, dried fruits, raisins, roast, and light citrus. Taste of citrus, dark fruits, spices, some wheat, and a drier finish.

Growler from SLH. Pours dark black with tan head, chocolate nose with locorice and mildly oxidized. Chocolate, sweet caramel, mild apple, sorta dry, some hop presence, grass and citrus. Kind of all of the place, but interesting.

Spicy aroma. Strange combination of malt and spice. Doesn’t quite work for me.

From growler, courtesy of Jon. Licorice notes to the nose, some candy. Malt and roasted grain, with a bit of hops, oxidation, and some esters. Dark brown opaque with thin off-white head. Medium body and carbonation. Starts with sweet rich malt and light hop character. Chocolate, caramel, a bit of barley. Roasted bitter finish with little yeasty funk. Interesting recipe, but not sure it works to its full potential. West Coast hop notes, Belgian yeast esters, and lots of roasted grain ... not quite your typical saison.

Growler complements of Jon. Pours dark dark brown with a very small fizz. Aroma is chocolatey with some carbon and molasses. Lots going on with flavor. Very roasty with a surprising bitterness to it. The saison flavor comes throughbut is covered a little by the roasted darkness. Warming alcohol finish.

Tap at Earth. Pours a deep brown with amber notes and a medium creamy deeper tan head that laced. Aroma of chocolate, rye, tart cherries and other fruity notes, some spicy saison notes and light caramel notes. Flavor of tart cherries, toasted malt, rye, spicy saison notes, caramel, earthy notes and a nice dry finish. Other spicy notes coming through.
