Wow. This is seriously awesome for 4%. Super rich with tons of milk chocolate, some molasses, brown sugar and a touch of cola. Fantastic beer.

Growler pour from Jon. Pours black with a tan, rimming head. Roast and chocolate nose. Clean and chocolaty, mild lacto-ness, empty clean middle. Sweet, lingering finish. Quaffable, solid, and way too sessionable.

From growler, courtesy of santos999. Wonderful roasted barley and toasted grain aroma, sweet with molasses, chocolate, and some coffee. Sweet nose with some light char and light lactose. Mild hops. Dark black, opaque, with thin light tan head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Starts fairly dry, with some mild nutty grain, light molasses and coffee, and mild tang. A bit stale at the end, but no harsh astringency. Light lactose note, too. Nice stout.

On tap at Earth. Pours a deep dark brown to black, with ruby highlights and a medium sized tan head that falls off quite fast. Nice big roast, dark chocolate, and a fuzzy hint of toast, and a nice caramel note. On the thin side of medium. Chocolate, roast, more dark cocoa powder. Finishes with a nice lingering roast bitterness. The only thing I didn’t like about this one so much? I was too damned full from all of the other tasty beer and delicious flatbreads to enjoy it as thoroughly as I should have. Excellent session stout.

Draft. Pours near black with a tan head. Roasty aroma, almost nutty, with a dark chocolate sweetness. The flavor has roasted malts, a touch of burnt wood/smokiness and a light toffee/chocolate sweetness. Very good, and at 4%ABV, something I would drink a ton of.

Tap at Earth. Pours a deep almost black with a bubbly off white head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and caramel. Flavor of roasted malt, light smoke, chocolate, toffee and caramel.

Dark brown / black with a small, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, some chocolate, vanilla bean, and burnt wood. Taste of roasted malts, some caramel, dry wood, light smoke, and a bit of cocoa in the finish.

Handpump from the brewpub. Pours a dark cola with a ruby red tint and a small beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, cola and dark chocolate. Taste is much the same as the aroma.
