Tap at the brewpub. Aroma of lightly roasted malt, coffee, complex bittering flowers and herbal notes. Flavor has a medium-sweet malt base with a fruit-flower finish. Highly drinkable. Impressive but graceful flavor, love that it’s 3.8%. Wish I could have had it more than once.

On draft at the brewpub. Pours a dark amber with a medium beige head. Aroma of bitter grains, lemon and hops. Taste is much the same as the aroma.

this gruit was nothing like the heavyweight gruit ale. pours dark with a visual carbonation to it. nose is very light, spice, mintyness, and pine. taste is really light and refreshing, some pine to it, and a strange chocolate mint flavor followed by a seltzer water type clean bitterness. I should have started with this one because everything tasted kind of watered down after berkuns finger.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of chestnuts, stew, and light flowers. Flavor of roasted malt, spices, very stewy, and nice. This reminded me of Stone/Nogne/Jolly Pumpkin Holiday Ale. Very flavorful and interesting. Full-bodied too. 7/4/8/4/15 (3.8/5)

On tap at the brewery. Has a spicy herbal nose, with perhaps heather, ginger and pepper notes. Smooth and sweet. Pleasant. Dark brown body with light haze, topped with thin off-white lacing head. Medium bodied with medium carbonation and a bit of carbonic acidity. Starts with nutty roasted grain, light brown sugar sweetness and a nice mix of rich spices. Ginger and light herbal notes. Mild spicy finish and smooth This is a nice mild gruit.

On tap at EB&B. Pours a hazy deep brown with a smaller bubbly tan head that left some lacing. Aroma of light smoke, chocolate, nuts, grains and light fruit. Flavor of chocolate, light smoke, yeast, toffee, nuts, honey and some sweeter malty notes.

As with any gruit I was a bit skeptical, but this one was more than decent. Grainy aroma with some light spices. Flavor is mildly malty with some light sweetness and summer fruits. Not bad!

Half pour @ the brewpub. Nice to see so much flavor in such a low abv brew. Its a very ashy, dark, and woodsy brew with even a bit of smoke to it. Good amount of nuttiness as well. It does not come off as a "spiced" beer because its nut dominated by traditional spices. It just comes off with a lot of flavor that seems to come from the beer but I have to guess that its more likely whatever extra that was trhown in.

Draft. Pours chocolate brown and opaque with a beige head. Sweet caramel aroma with chocolate, fruit, and light roast. The flavor is sweet and fruity, with light roast/burnt wood, caramel, and spices. Another very nice beer from what is quickly becoming one of my favorite brew pubs.

From the tap poured almost black with a small head. Nice flavor almost a licorice/coffe flavor with a strong finsh.
