I wasn't to fond of this beer. It was a bit bitter. I would not recommend this beer.

Bottle, screw-top. Nose is very malty, toasted with light tart undercoat, citric and lightly woody hops, toffee in the British sense. Has some berrylicious crystal character. Pours darkish amber with a foamy beige head. Taste only lightly sweet, not nearly to the level I expected, with a huge frontal wall of molasses and lighter toffee and darker earth. Hops are minor but spritely and liven things up a bit, floral and lightly citric to match the fruity yeast contribution, medium body quenching and mild, refreshing and flavorful. Not perfectly clean and commendable, but something I’d happily revisit.

When the server starts the conversation with, "Sorry it’s not cold enough," you know this one won’t be confused with a top 100 beer. Such was the case. Amber color with an aroma of caramel and toasted malt. Some caramel and toasted malt flavor with a quick hop bite at the end. Meh.

12oz. Pours medium copper/amber with a small ring of lace. Aromas of light caramel, bread, toasted grain, a slight earthy hops. Flavor is watery and bland. Some caramel and toasted grain show...but not much. Meh

Bottle from Blue Dog. Pours deep coppery toward mahogany with 1-finger splotchy off-white head. Nose is hopcitrus, earthy spicy brown sugar. Tastes hoppy, malty, a bit vegetallic, with a spicy hoppy peppery finish. This one, with some fine tuning, could become a little brother of hopback amber, which is what I think they were going for.

Á strange metallic aroma from the pour. Looks nice, amber with a small head. The flavor is quite bland. Finishes thin. Not much to recommend here.
