Goodness gracious! I was definitely not expecting this. In fact, I haven’t tasted anything like it. What a unique wholesome, bready, satisfying beverage. I’m going to get a growler tonight.

A- Hazy golden bronze body with small off-white head. Head fades quickly and no lacing or collar is left behind. Head retention is somewhat disappointing; but I love a cloudiness this thick in an IPA.
S- wow is this beer fresh! Lots of pine and citrus hop aromas with a solid caramel malt background.
T- Upfront is a big balance of citrus and pine hop flavor with a subtle caramel malt background and very little bitterness. The finish is all pine hop flavor. A big refreshing dose of piny cascade hops take over and make a nice clean-yet wet-finish. Nothing lingers on the palate.
P- Medium carbonation and smooth body. Not very oily. Goes down easy.
O- Its a shame this beer is a seasonal. The fresh hops make a world of difference here and it is delicious. Luckily, I live in the Pittsburgh area and can enjoy this one every time it comes around.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 FROTHINGSLOSH (3977) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 12, 2009
Sampled on draft at the Map Room in Regent Square this beer poured a dark orange-caramel color with a large orange-beige head that lingered. The aroma was strong sweet fruity hops with a light peppery undertone. The flavor was strong sweet fruity hops, tangy malts and hints of caramel and nut. The finish was long, tangy, sweet and full of fruity hops. Not very bitter despite the impressive hop presence. Fairly full bodied. Very nice.

This beer was definately my favorite from East End. UNfiltered and wet hopped, absolutely delicious.

Growler shared by CMUBEERMAN. Red caramel, off white head, with floating chunks of hops. Aroma is candied: malt, caramel, and hops. Flavor is vegetable (perhaps due to the hops), hops, malt, and caramel. Quite unique.

Notes from Capone’s on draft. Copper with nose of caramel malt, resiny hops, some floral and peppery notes. Tastes hoppy, with solid caramel malt bill, some floral, peppery and tropical citrus notes. Decent complexity and balance.

On tap at Capones. Pours a hazy golden/orange with a medium bubbly/creamy white head that laced. Aroma of fresh floral/citrusy hops, lightly grassy, cereal grains and bready. Flavor of pine, grapefruit, grassy, light caramel, cereal grains and bready malt.

Growler from brewery: Thanks to the brewer who sold me some beer even though I wasn’t there during their growler hours!! This one pours a hazy orangish color. There was a fair amount of a beige head that leaves some lacing. The aroma is decent: plenty of hops to the nose. Mainly piney, but some earthy notes also. The taste is also quite good. A nice medium body, with lots of pine and grapefruit hop flavors. Given the taste and aroma I expected this to be more bitter, but it is very drinkable. Quite nice.

Draught at Sharp Edge. I was scared and confused at first because the waitress said it is an "oktoberfest" beer. Luckily my doubts were correct. Hazy copper. Off-white head. Light sweet hop aroma with some stale grains. Flavor is orange with caramel, vanilla and/or orange sherbert, medium bright hops, some pez, very fruity, very well blended and balanced. Possibly cask conditioned?
