Cask @ Fat Heads Saloon, Pittsburgh - Nice, big malty prrofile. Copper pour, caramel malts, cirtus and piney finishes bitter. Mellow body because of the hand pull cask. Tasty.

I have had this beer several times, but this was on tap, hand [pulled at Piper’s Pub, so the carbonation and head were low, a little lacing but the whole hopexperience was smooth and mellow.

On draft at Sharp Edge Brasserie. Poured light copper with off-white head. Sweet with citrus tones throughout. Fairly standard IPA and somewhat forgettable. A shame that this is the best the Burgh has to offer.

Growler. Pours a hazy amber with a white head. Smells of pine, bitter citrus. Tastes of juicy hops, some resiny hints, peppery, some sweet citrus on the finish. Well balanced.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a caramel amber color with a citrus and pine aroma. Flavor is more caramel, citrus and pine with little hops like many IPA’s. Smooth and refreshing.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear amber, with white heat. Citrus, piney bitterness, caramel malt, and hops. Good IPA, but doesn’t stand out to much.

UPDATED: AUG 14, 2010 Tap at Pony Bar. Hazy amber pour with a thin white head. The nose is full of light iced tea, a bit of grapefruit and a touch of lightly sweet toffee. Fairly brisk hoppiness with a bit of fruitiness on the flavour. Some orange peel and sweet malt. More east coast in construction with a definite twist in the direction of sweetness, but it’s pretty tasty even though I routinely prefer hoppier stuff.
Cask at Brazen Head. Deep amber pour with a thin white head. The nose is nice and fresh with a bright hoppy nose. A touch of orange marmalade along with a woody resinousness. Light grapefruit citrus and a lingering astringent/grassy character.

Citrus and pine hops with a solid malty, caramel backbone. It’s a really easy to drink IPA that still offers up plenty of hop flavor and bitter feel. This is quite the sessionable IPA. Not a palate killer so moving to other beers is still on the table.

Sweaty, cheesy hop, blue cheese, and peach. Flavor has sweet, worty malts, with a full body, locker room, white pepper. Clean, boring yeast.
