3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 JoeMcPhee (7671) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 9, 2010
UPDATED: AUG 14, 2010 Tap at Pony Bar. Hazy amber pour with a thin white head. The nose is full of light iced tea, a bit of grapefruit and a touch of lightly sweet toffee. Fairly brisk hoppiness with a bit of fruitiness on the flavour. Some orange peel and sweet malt. More east coast in construction with a definite twist in the direction of sweetness, but it’s pretty tasty even though I routinely prefer hoppier stuff.
Cask at Brazen Head. Deep amber pour with a thin white head. The nose is nice and fresh with a bright hoppy nose. A touch of orange marmalade along with a woody resinousness. Light grapefruit citrus and a lingering astringent/grassy character.

I be trinkink zis unt I be vonderink if zis ist really an IPA. Zhe tasten vas more liken ein pale ale cause of zhe hop mildness. It vas gut zhough, vis ein malty ness, or ist zhat ein nalty mess? Earlier Rating: 6/5/2005 Total Score: 3.8 I was very impressed by this beer. It was nicely balanced without the usual overpowering hop presence. This is an easy drinker which I’ll definately be looking for again.

Pours a hazy blonde/honey color with a medium creamy white head. Aroma has some spicy and tea-like hops. Flavor has spicy, bitter hops...leafy...lightly biscuity. Mouthfeel is light/medium with a bitter, dry finish.

Draft. The name says it all. This one has all you’d expect in appearance, palate, and scent from an IPA, but the taste stands out. After the hay hop bomb explosion up front, there’s a brown, malty kick to finish it out.
