COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Raised in an almost cruel state of total darkness, our Black Strap Stout delights in being the complete opposite of a light beer. This one has full-flavor, full-depth, full-life, and of course full-carb. See it brought squinting into the light for the very first time in your glass. The humane thing to do is finish the pint before the protective head burns off.

Palate was medium bodied and soft with medium carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, burnt malts, ash, hops, liquorice and bitterness. Aftertaste was roasty, burnt and bitter. A soft and dry stout with long lasting and quite harsh but still pleasant taste.

Draft. Classic imperial stout; this is everything you’d want from an imperial stout from the first scent to the final aftertaste. Complex mix of roast malt and coffee scent over a jet black body and intricate lacing. The palate was a thick and chewy bodied stout, and the taste was kicked off by a roasted coffee note, strong, that melded into a more complex chocolate/licorice aftertaste as it warmed.

On keg at the Craft Beer Co. Pours a very dark brown colour with a thin tan head. Aroma of chocolate, liquorice, caramel, alcohol and a little smoke. Similar flavours. Mildly bitter with moderate carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. Alcohol is fairly present with a dry finish.
