UPDATED: MAR 31, 2013 Bottle with Brent, Simon, and Keith. Pours a dark brown, with thin off white head. Light lacing. Aromas and taste of milk chocolate, lighjt roasted coffee, vanilla, smooth malts, and espresso. Light to medium body, pretty refreshing and easy going for a coffee beer.

Growler from Brewery. My favorite coffee house and Pittsburgh brewery. Pours brown with massive head. Nose of huge coffee aroma, like freshly ground coffee. Sweet chocolate, mild roast, ground coffee lavor. Solid bitter, mild astringency. Solid.

Pours deep brown with a medium mocha head...nice lacing and retention. Aroma has roasty/burnt notes, dark fruit, nice coffee, and a touch of nuttiness. Flavor is more directly coffee with a touch of dark fruit and some burnt notes. Mouthfeel is medium and the finish is burnt/dry with bold coffee.

Pours dark brown / black with small beige head. Aroma of sweet chocolate covered espresso beans. Flavor is dark burnt bitter and not overwhelmingly sweet. Medium body and tasty.

Mild acidic roasted barley with notes of coffee grounds, chocolate, and a bit of smoke. Lactose sweetness and nutty quality. Dark, dark brown-black body, clear with creamy light-tan lacing head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Starts medium sweet with chocolate, coffee, coffee, and more coffee. Nutty bitterness and hops abound, with roasted barley and patent malt. Chocolatey finish, coffee bitterness but not rough. Smooth coffee after. Really good porter.

Flip top bottle from Beerman6686. Thanks! Deep brown color; pours with a tan foam on top that settles as a thin layer. This one is all about the coffee. Lots of roasted coffee grounds and sooty ash in the aroma with some bitter unsweetened dark chocolate joining those two in the flavor. The body is fairly full and silky smooth going down. The bitterness and roasty notes are countered well by some caramel malty sweetness. This is a pretty straightforward Porter but it’s very well crafted and tasty.

Big ol’ flip-top. Poured deeper brown with a tall, nice-looking smoked beige head. The aroma picked up sweeter, lightly-roasted coffee, toffee, and lesser biscuity notes.. soft overall, and I loved the coffee they used in there.. a bit earthy. The flavor found the same sweeter, earthy coffee throughout.. just a little bitterness and sour, ripe coffee beans around.. more coffee stuck on the long, tasty finish. Medium-bodied and fairly well carbonated on the palate.. well-balanced and tasty.. not the most complex brew in the world, but I’d drink it any night.

Dark brown, essentially black, loose big milk chocolate foam. Aroma is sharp green coffee bean, very roasty, little backing sweetness. Taste is not as sharp, some chocolate alongside the coffee and the coffee isn’t quite so green and sharp. Nice.
