Bottle. Cola color with a thick tan head. Aroma is slightly metallic, coffee grounds and some hop juiciness. Taste follows suit and adds some chocolate and cigar smoke. Mouthfeel is smooth but slightly thin. Solid.

Bottle. Dark brown almost black with a thin tan head. Aroma is coffee, hazelnut, and roasted malt. The taste adds a touch of sweet chocolate and bitter notes on the finish. The palate starts off light and thin but, after a few sips it builds up. Very good coffee porter ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750 thanks to Dan. Pours a jet black color with a medium creamy brown head. A sweet nose of coffee, milk and ash. Big sweet coffee but not too much, lactose, black patent, roasted heavy malts, some metal, vanilla. Quite good. Funny story: I had a giant liter bottle of this that I asked my mom to mail out. She literally put it in a UPS flat rate box with no packing. It broke. Nice to try it finally.

Draft sampler at The Beerhive in Pittsburgh. The coffee does not come through as much as one would expect, but the remainder is very satisfying and tasty. Plenty of robust flavors and a nice chewiness stand out.

Bottle sample at RBWG ’11. Pours a dark brown to black color with a small khaki head. The aroma and flavor had roasted malts, roasted coffee, a peppery spice and some chocolate. Decent enough aroma and flavor, but the body was thin.

Poured from growler. Opaque, near black with a 3-finger dark tan head and excellent lacing. Aroma of roasted coffee, dark roasted malt, more dark intense coffee. Taste of dark roasted coffee, dark roasted malt, chocolate and lactose sugar. Medium body and medium carbonation. Lots and lots of coffee in this one, but little complexity. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours very dark brown with a fluffy khaki head that sticks to my glass. The aroma is of roasted coffee, dark malts, sweet malts, and light hops. As for flavor I picked up on coffee grounds, semi sweet and dry malts characters, light bittering chocolate, light hop intensity, and a mild roasted taste. The finish is of roasted coffee, weak bitterness, and malts. Overall this is an enjoyable drink and worth trying if you love coffee.

Wonderfull aroma of coffee beans, taste is coffee and cocoa, very nice. One of the better coffee beers I have had. Medium/light body, not stepping on stouts toes.

750 mL bottle from the brewery. Pours a dark brown color with a large foamy brown head. Good head retention. Aroma of bitter coffee, coffee grounds, sweet malt finish. The taste is roast coffee, roasted malts, chocolate, sweet malts and a mild hop note in the finish. Medium bodied. Decent, well balanced.
