Commercial Description:
Southern English style Nut Brown Ale with a bit of chocolate character to it. Dark in color, but light in body, and leaning toward the sweet malty side. You'll really have to look for the hops in this one.

Draught @ The Headkeeper: This one pours a fairly opaque brown, with almost no head on it. The aroma is mainly malty, with a whiff of nuttiness in there also. The flavor is very similar to the aroma. Matly, with some nuttiness and a hint of chocolate. Tasty, and an easy drinker.

Sample at East End. Hazy brown pour with a medium tan head. Malty aroma with some caramel, but not much else going on. Noble hop characteristics that give it a lagery feel. Malty flavor with a bit of nuts, a hint of roast and more of that lagery character.

Comes out of the tap a rich warm brown, barely translucent, with a fairly thick pale tan head. Aroma is rich and malty with hints of cinnamon, smoke and caramel. Flavor is mainly malty and has nutty, smoky and spicy tones - one can really taste how the malt is roasted. Texture is smooth and very pleasing.

Cask: Aroma of graham crackers, nuts, wood, malts, and moist potting soil. Poured very dark brown in color with a medium to large, thin, rocky, wispy, oatmeal colored head that lasted throughout. Good lacing. Lightly sweet flavor. Tastes of nuts, wood, malts, and some chocolate. Medium body. Chewy and chalky texture. No carbonation. Nutty and malty finish.

Cask @ Zeno’s. Hazy brown body with no head. The nose is light with some raisins, dough and some caramel. The flavor is lightly sweet, light bitter with raisins, toffee and watery tea. Medium/light body is thin with light carbonation.

Cask @ Zeno’s. Brown, no head. Mild nose of chocolate malt and bread, but it’s extremely faint and very bland smelling so it’s difficult to judge this one at all. Sadly the flavor isn’t any better - weak, pallid, empty, with a watery texture as well. Disappointing.
