The aroma is mainly malty, with a whiff of nuttiness in there also. The flavor is very similar to the aroma. Matly, with some nuttiness and a hint of chocolate. Tasty, and an easy drinker. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 15, 2009 Sample at East End. Hazy brown pour with a medium tan head. Malty aroma with some caramel, but not much else going on. Noble hop characteristics that give it a lagery feel. Malty flavor with a bit of nuts, a hint of roast and more of that lagery character. Aroma is rich and malty with hints of cinnamon, smoke and caramel. Flavor is mainly malty and has nutty, smoky and spicy tones - one can really taste how the malt is roasted. Texture is smooth and very pleasing. keepersj12 (797), Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 8, 2008 Cask @ Zeno’s. Brown, no head. Mild nose of chocolate malt and bread, but it’s extremely faint and very bland smelling so it’s difficult to judge this one at all. Sadly the flavor isn’t any better - weak, pallid, empty, with a watery texture as well. Disappointing.
