3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: OCT 12, 2013 Had this bottle for some time before opening. Pours a deep brown with a big tan head that lasts for 30 seconds. There is only a slight hint of bourbon in the aroma but not much. Mostly malts to the nose, somewhat chocolatey. Tastes a bit smokey with some dryness to it. Smooth mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
DO NOT AGE. Loses all traces of bourbon in less than 8 months. Should be drank fresh unless you want a roasty dry stout.

Bottle with Simon and Keith, pours black with medium coffee head, lots of tony bubbles and sticky lacing streaks. Aromas and flavor of carboard, plastic, gouda cheese, graham, coffee, chocolate, and roast. Sticky palate with a char finish. More of a porter.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
2012 bottle from artmcd8. The pour is black in color with a big firm frothy mocha head. Nice lacing on the glass after each sip. The aroma consists of; ashy notes, lots of chocolate, roasted malt, a slight dark fruit character, and faint whiffs of bourbon. The flavor uncovers a mild earthy hop component with a lot of mocha/dark chocolaty notes. Thereís chocolaty sweetness throughout with a touch of caramel. The bourbon is hardly noticed but itís there to add another element to an already good beer. Deep down thereís some creamy vanilla that pairs well with the chocolate and what bourbon is there. Very tasty stuff. I like the level of drinkability too.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
2012 bottle aged in Markers Mark Bourbon barrels. A good carbonated beverage that forms a well liked head in my glass. The aroma is very rich with roasted malts. There is a minimal chocolate and sweet bourbon undertone in the scent. As for flavor I noticed dark malts, hops, faint bourbon, and chocolate flavors. The roasted malts are tasty but a little too potent. I was impressed by the pleasant hop flavor in this beverage. The Homewood leaves a malt and hop aftertaste with a mild bitterness. My palate was impacted mildly as well. Overall I really enjoyed this drink. A very fine beverage.
