3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap @ Bocktown through a banana chips and nutmeg randall. Color is glowing, hazy straw, cannot see through it. Aroma is lightly sticky sweet and sugary. There is a little bit of nutmeg, maybe, just a smidgen. But lots of sweet, light banana esters. Taste is less sharp on the sweet but pretty similar. I feel there is that banana chip character outside the beer but maybe I was imagining it.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Growler from artmcd8. Thanks, Art! The pour is a golden color with a thin, mostly short-lived, fizzy white head. The aroma is nice; pretty much like any typical good Hefeweizen: wheat, clove, banana, and some spice. The flavors follow; a soft wheat and herbal character kicks things off, lavender comes to mind, with banana, a little orange spice, light cinnamon, sweet vanilla, and a stale grain finish. Zippy carbonation that tingles the palate. Refreshing, easy going, and pretty tasty stuff. Definitely a winner in the middle of a Florida summer.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Growler. Opaque gold, white head. Aroma is yeasty (banana), spicy: nutmeg, coriander, cinnamon. Flavor is yeasty: banana, bubble gum, spices. Decent mouth feel, doesnít feel thin. Not a bad beer, but Iím not a hefeweizen fan.

UPDATED: JUL 31, 2013 This beer tastes a lot like your typical wheat beer. Blue moon-ish. On tap at a bourbon bar.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
A- Nearly opaque straw yellow body with a creamy white head. Retention is good and plenty of lacing sticks all the way down the glass. Body is uniform in cloudiness.
S- Nose is big and heavy with loads of banana, clove, and pepper.
T- A boatload of banana, clove, and pepper upfront, with a substantial (though barely noticeable due to the strength of the flavors upfront) sweet yeast backbone. The banana fades a little bit and the spices come out strong for the finish.
P- Carbonation is high and body is smooth and yeasty.
O- This is definitely not an average run-of-the-mill hefe. It is a hefe on steroids. Great spring session beer (though I wish it was offered year-round). It quickly has become one of my favorite beers.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Experienced on tap in a pub glass. The beer pours the classic cloudy straw-colored yellowish/golden hue, with a surprisingly small and thin head. The nose brings fairly strong yeast-based esters of banana, along with perhaps a touch of background pilsner/wheat malt character. The palate is slightly too lightly carbonated. The banana scent morphs into a full-on wave in terms of flavor, especially as the beer warms slightly. The flavor is, of course, a hallmark of the style, but this variant features it at a level of intensity that hits wide of the mark. A lower fermentation temperature would surely help this beer move much more in line with the great examples of the style. Overall, a beer that is a few adjustments short of being high quality.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Six N Save. Pours a slightly cloudy pale straw color with a thick foamy head. Tons of banana in the nose. Some coriander and spicy yeast as well. The flavor was very sweet with cloves and bananas. A decent carbonation to it and an overall pretty creamy mouthfeel. The spice and fruit play nicely together on the palate. This is a pretty solid Hefe.
