COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Some might call it a Wheat Wine - a barleywine brewed with wheat taking the place of about 50% of the barley in the mash. Others would claim it’s a Weizenbock, because it’s fermented with our Hefeweizen yeast strain. I’ll just call it tasty. And at just over 10% ABV, it’ll have you swinging from tree to tree in no time at all.

From bottle. Nose is alcohol vapors, strong overripe bananas and candy sugar tang, estery with some light clove and yeasty character. Sweet, sweet nose, caramel. Medium orange-amber clear with light haze, topped with thin off-white lacing head. Medium-heavy body with medium carbonation, huge alcohol warming, and some carbonic burn. Starts sweet with tons of malt, alcohol, caramel and banana, clove and vanilla, and some roasted grain. Banana and brandy finish, with sweet alcohol and light bittering hops. Sweet after just short of cloying. Packs a punch, but enjoyable.

Huge swing top bottle, very generous gift from Matt at Capones. Was worried when I opened this because I thought it was way past its best date but I didn’t realize it was a wheat wine and it was fine! Nice amber with a quickly fading biege head. Esters, wheat, alcohol, banana and pear with some light spice. Low carbonation, sweet with an alcohol tang, lots of fruit on the finish as well - interesting.

I was lookin to the label trying to figure out what the abv was on this while sipping...wasn’t listed but I would not have thought 10%. As it warms up I get some grainy notes. Roasted, malted wheat throughout.

Strong, high clove aroma. Taste is sweet almost to the point of cidery, lots of wheat yeasty spiciness.

Huge swing-top bottle shared by CaseyK...thanks Casey! - Pours really hazy amber with a huge fluffy white head. Nose is overripe banana with a sharp shot of rubbing alcohol and a bit of tropical fruit sweetness. Taste is REALLY overripe banana--super sweet but not syrupy. Lots of tropical fruit and a very warming finish. Chocolate notes through the finish. Thick and resinous body, with a nice carbonation level--but a little thick for my tastes. Interesting, but too sweet.

Growler… Murky peach-colored ale with a small, creamy, white head. Excellent retention. The aroma offers big-time banana with a peripheral note of pear. Full-bodied with a fatty mouthfeel and dancing carbonation. The fruity, malty flavor provides apple, banana and sweet pale grains. Finishes sweet and bready with overripe banana performing an encore. Growler courtesy of Beerman6686!

1.5L Swing-Top Bottle: Aroma of malt, banana, wheat, coriander, and spice. Poured a muddy orange/brown in color with no head. Cloudy. Not sparkling. Flavor is medium sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of wheat, malt, coriander, banana, yeast, and slight alcohol. Medium body. Slightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Malt, wheat, coriander finish is lightly dry, lightly bitter, and medium sweet. 10%ABV is slightly noticeable in the flavor, but generally well masked.

This poured a semi cloudy darker red color with a beige head. Aroma was lots and lots of spices, mainly clove and some coriander too. Flavor was a little less impressive than the aroma, somewhat astringent, again lots of clove and yeast character, light toasted caramel here too. Decent.
