again not sure what to make of this beer. i think the hops were a little too strong for my liking. i do like wheat beers but for some reason this one did not stick.

On tap at the Bocktown. I’m not much one for hopped brews even tho wheat is one of my favorites so I not sure what to expect here. Pour is like a slightly hazy wheat beer. Aroma is floral hops, not wheatlike. Nice head that is creamy with mixed size bubbles. Interesting mild hop flavor. Not a real hard hop impact, the wheat seems to be combining with the hops to make it more palatable. The hops do override the friendly wheat flavors to an extent. Hop and wheat is an odd combination on my tongue. I’m not sure of it’s purpose. Is it to be something different or are we trying to attract pale ale lovers to wheat? Finish is mild to medium hop bitterness that hangs for a while after the last drink. This comes across somewhat like a mild pale ale.

***Rerate*** Got a growler of this from the brewery and wow how my palate changed! Aroma was huge hops with a wheaty background. Pour murky light brown with a 3 finger white head. Taste was very hoppy throughout with a hint of wheat in the middle just to let you know that it’s there. Great beer...could be a little more carbonated but still great. Original rating: AR5 AP3 F6 P3 OI13 TS3 On tap at Bocktown. A delicious and odd twist on this style. Pour was a light gold with a decent white head. Aroma of wheat and hops. Tasted like a wheat beer with a nice hop aftertaste. Unique and delicious.

Growler from East End. Hazy orange gold with off white head. Aroma is a bouquet of hops, flowers, tangerine. Flavor is hops, tangerine and very wheaty (in a good way). This is a very different, tastey beer.

On tap. Huge hops grapefruit aroma. Floral with wheaty presence and a dusty bitterness. Cloudy pale golden with huge pale frothy head. Fairly watery with medium carbonation. Taste is that of an American wheat, with citrusy tang, bit watery. What’s different is the huge amount of grapefruity and chalky bitterness. A big hopped American wheat. Big bitter finish with citrus pith tang.
