FROTHINGSLOSH (1961), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 10, 2007 Probably my favorite beer from this brewer so far. Sampled on draft at the Map Room at Regent Square this beer poured a murky golden-tan color with a medium sized tan head. The aroma was spicy, bready and had a moderate floral hop presence. The flavor was yeasty, wheaty, bready and very robust in body with a strong malt background to go with the light fruity and floral hops. There was a nice banana undertone. Wonderfully well balanced! Miver (551), WillowStreet, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 30, 2008 Sampled at brewery. Poured hazy gold in color with a mountainous white frothy head. Aroma of wheat and hops. surprise surprise. Taste was a bit earthy and dusty. Flavors of wheat, with an overpowering hop presence. Hops are maybe a little too bittering for my liking. I enjoyed this because it’s not the average IPA or APA. It’s different and very drinkable. Beerman6686 (1263), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 4, 2007 This beer is awesome. Wheat character with a great amount of hops at the end, just like ugly american, a very nice "mixed’ beer. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA May 21, 2007 Draft at Capone’s. Very turbid, almost mud puddly medium tan pour with minimal off-white head. The aroma is hugely resiny and hoppy, with some wheaty malt and slight fruit wafts. The taste is very hoppy, balanced well by the wheat/malt, and some finishing citrus. I thought this was very good, but I understand the gripes of the purists as well. zebracakes (1214), Washington DC, USA Mar 27, 2007 Growler from East End. Hazy orange gold with off white head. Aroma is a bouquet of hops, flowers, tangerine. Flavor is hops, tangerine and very wheaty (in a good way). This is a very different, tastey beer. Got a growler of this from the brewery and wow how my palate changed! Aroma was huge hops with a wheaty background. Pour murky light brown with a 3 finger white head. Taste was very hoppy throughout with a hint of wheat in the middle just to let you know that it’s there. Great beer...could be a little more carbonated but still great.

On tap at Bocktown. A delicious and odd twist on this style. Pour was a light gold with a decent white head. Aroma of wheat and hops. Tasted like a wheat beer with a nice hop aftertaste. Unique and delicious. TomDecapolis (3128), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 15, 2007 On tap at Capone’s. Pours a lightly hazy golden yellow with a medium foamyh white head that left nice lacing. Aroma of fresh hops, citrus, some pine and sweet orange. Flavor of hops also with the pine/citrus things going on. Picked up some wheat tartness in the flavor, not so much in the aroma. This one is very hoppy, which I like but since it is a wheat beer is on the thin side. A bunch of hop bitterness as well. michael-pollack (2601), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 16, 2007 Draught: Aroma of floral, grapefruity hops. As Nate said, "wheaty presence and a dusty bitterness" to the scent. Poured golden with a hint of amber in color. Big, foamy, rocky, off-white head lasted throughout. Great lacing. Medium to heavy bitter flavor. Tastes of hops and wheat. A hint of grapefruit as well. Light body. Watery, but slightly sticky, texture. Average carbonation. Short, hoppy/wheat finish. Overall, a bit thin and light, but plenty of hops.
