3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Beerman6686 (2548) - Pittsburgh, USA - JUN 30, 2011
This poured a dark cloudy gold color slightly tinted blue, with an off white head. Aroma was some bready wheaty character, with light semi tart blueberries there too. Flavor was just enough blueberry to know its there but not overdoing it and not artificial either, nice blend with the yeasty wheat character.

From growler. Blueberry and dark cherry aroma, light sweet pale malt and a slight bit of floral hops. A bit of jasmine. Medium amber, hazy, with thin white foamy lacing head. Medium watery body with medium-high carbonation. Starts lightly sweet, with nice blueberry flavor, floral. Light carbonic bite, with some yeasty finish. Fruity after, light and refreshing with a bit of spicy character.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Hair6a11 (1021) - Illinois, USA - JUL 9, 2011
Growler; murky gold in hue with a modest white head that retains on the average side. The nose is sweet breads, feint blueberries, and a touch of florals. The flavor profile could be a bit more robust, with the blueberries a bit more noticeable, but it makes it quite sessionable. Its slightly tart, mildly sweet; bready malts, florals, blueberries, and a touch of honey. Its not bad at all.

Poured into a pint glass. Here’s the lowdown on this brew. Session Ale #41: BlackberRye Ale was so well received that it lasted just a week. EE was going to rebrew that, but fruit shortages prevented this. Thus, we have SA #43: BlueberRye.
4.0 A: Hazy golden color. Two fingers of frothy white head with decent retention and touches of spotty lacing.
3.5 S: Rye earthy spiciness is there. Blueberry is faint, much fainter than the blackberry in #41. Aroma is pleasant, but it’s pretty simple and not nearly strong enough.
3.5 T: Taste is much like the nose. Earthy rye spiciness, faint blueberry, and not much else.
3.5 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Reasonably creamy. No problems, but not great either.
3.0 D: It’s been a long time since I’ve had an EE beer that wasn’t very good. This isn’t very good. It’s not bad, but nothing worth seeking out because it’s simply too boring. Fruit beers need a ton of fruit to be amazing (a la NG twins) and unfortunately #41 was a lot closer to what I wanted.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 cheapdark (2962) - Quiptown & Central Valley, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 9, 2010
Had this on tap at the Mad Mex in Monroeville. Looks like pale lager with a creamy top. Perhaps some haze in there. Just smells beery good, no hint of blueberry per se. First taste is barely any carbonation but ast eh session continues the creamy ness of the brew begins to set in for a nice palate, even becomes sizzly at times. Much more mild than I expected with all these rude rye brews around anymore. I even found this to be fun and interestingly mild. Almost oddly tart ans sparkly. Mild friendly and easy, boy does east end make some great session brews and this is another. Easy to get along with fer sure. Perhaps some fruit or blueberry in the taste deep down inside. Refreshing to say the least. No real bttier personality and that suits me just fine. Really good beer tasting experience and my pint went down to the bottom before I knew it, lovely. Another nifty beer from Scott, thanks bud!
