Aug 11, 2008 Thanks to Larry for bringing this bottle by! Poured hazy peach with just a dusting of white head. The aroma picked up toasty paler malts surrounded by brighter, alcohol-infused pear-like sweetness.. aiight. The flavor was spicy and rather hot with pale malts and lighter fruits at the core.. dry black peppery spices surrounded.. finished with peppery alcohol. Medium-bodied and warm throughout the mouth.. lots of spicage.. just OK.

Jun 22, 2008 Bottle: Hazy golden pour with a wispy white head. Nice fruity aroma of crisp apple skin and marmalade. Flavor is less impressive with mildly sweet bubblegum, apple and a sweet grain note. There’s some wet malt in the finish. Nothing great.

Jun 23, 2008 somehow this beer is both sour and bland at the same time. if i had to say it would be a bit fruit forward, maybe stone fruits. i guess its mostly malt and the yeast does nothing for this abbey style. at least its not very alcohol forward.

Opaque gold, white head. Aroma is banana, citrus, nutmeg, coriander. Flavor is banana, bitter hops, walnut (?), alcohol. Could stand to be more balanced.

Jan 11, 2009 Bottle courtesy of sebletitje. Pours a hazy golden with a one finger white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of yeast, sweet malt, and not much else. Taste is the same as aroma with a hint of honey. Medium mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness. Decent.

Feb 10, 2008 1L bottle courtesy of cheapdark at Pittsburgh gathering on 1/27/08. Pours a hazy bright yellow, nice fluffy stark white foam and good retention. Aroma is a big on the banana, eh, some earthy hop aroma is buried somewhere under the banana, somewhere. Flavor is fairly sweet for the style, dries out nicely in the finish though. Alcohol is very nicely hidden.

Sep 8, 2008 Bottle… RBSG ‘08… Murky, apple juice colored ale with a small, creamy, white head. Spicy, fruity aroma provides instances of clove, pear and banana. Full-bodied with nearly-dead carbonation. Sweet, fruity flavor. Lengthy, sweet, fruity finish with just a hint of bitterness in the aftermath.
