COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
East End TOASTER is our 4th Anniversary beer, an imperial version of Black Strap Stout. It is the thickest stuff we have ever brewed here - just wait until you see how it colors a glass. It will be wearing a brand new label by brand new label artist Tracey Ryan who has rapidly cranked this out in the midst of a holiday crush.

Bottle. Black pour with brown head. Roasted coffee, dark sugar, and some light chocolate, next too a bit of alcohol warming. Ten percent isn’t hidden well at all.

1 liter swing-top; thanks alex!! pours thin, jet black with thin tan head forming along the edges; smoky and super dry; chocolate, roast and burnt toast; bitter coffee and burnt malts; level of smoky is mildly harsh at first, but as it warms a rich balance emerges; pretty damn good

Bottle from MaltOMeal.
Pours a deep black with an aroma of coppery chocolate powder and faint smoke. Flavor is smokey alcohol-soaked chocolate bacon. Lingers on the tongue. Very tasty.

Bottle shared by Smokepot23 at Woodshop 5.0 (2/20/10): Pours an oily opaque with a small froth of dark tan head. Aroma of sweet dark caramel and chocolate with a smooth dark fruitiness. Starts with good fullness and a rich dark chocolate flavor with earthy bittering hops and a smooth mocha finish. Well-balanced and fairly complex. A good imperial stout.

A: A fantastic looking pour on this one! The beer is thick and black with a mild tan head. S: The nose is incredibly roasty and smokey. There’s a lot of roasted malt, char, and a slight vanilla and chocolate sweetness to it. T: The smoke character is even more intense in the flavor. The char is big and bold with some peat notes and a generally smokey flavor. The chocolate is not anywhere near as noticeable here. M: This is most definitely a full bodied beer with a low carbonation, which is great for big stouts like this one. D: The intense flavor makes this beer a bit tough to drink too much of, but the lack of alcohol presence in the nose or flavor does help out a bit.

Growler. Poured a rich dark brown. Nose is bourbon and big roasted malts. Lightly carbonated but oh so drinkable. Strong rich big malts and lots of bourbon hints. Excellant.
