Commercial Description:
The earliest documented evidence of the East End Brewing’s East End Witte dates all the way back to November of 2004, much like the brewery itself. Classically styled, this Belgian “white beer” is layered with week upon week of long standing brewing tradition, history, experience, and craftsmanship - brought to you, fresh from the brewery by the brewer himself. (No, he’s not your server, but he was definitely in here recently with a keg.) Taste the new tradition for yourself.

On tap. Poured a deeper golden color with a smaller sized white head. Aromas of wheat, citrus, light bananas, and some spices. Weaker aromas. Tastes of wheatiness, spices, and citrus. Lacing left on the glass.

Draft at Capone’s. I have no problem going on the record and stating that this is by far the finest witbier I have ever quaffed. The pour gives a fluffy, 1-finger white head that rests like a cloud on top of the body of the beer, which is a hazy, lemon pulpy gold color. The aroma is huge fruit, hops, spices, clove, coriander, banana, peaches in syrup, lemon, orange. Great fruity aroma with just enough clove and peppery notes, plus a Saazy hop presence. The taste is spicy, clovey, pale malty, and peachy up front, giving way to that Saazy hop presence, some yeasty notes, and a finishing burst of lemon, orange, and limey citrus. I love this beer.

Draught: Medium sweet aroma. Smells of lemon, citrus, hops, a touch of bubblegum. Poured gold in color with a small white head that lasted throughout. Very good lacing. Hazy. Sparkling. Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of lemon, hops, bubblegum, wheat, and a bit of spices. Light to medium body. Sticky texture. Lively carbonation. Sweet lemon finish. Overall, ok, but too sweet.

Growler from brewery. Pours a hazy yellow with a big foamy white head. Aromas of citrus (oranges and lemons), coriander, cloves and other spices. Flavor is complex and balanced... similar to aroma with a subtle, dry, belgian quality with hints of bananas and yeast. A delicious and refreshing wit.
