hopdog (5535), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 12, 2007 On tap. Poured a deeper golden color with a smaller sized white head. Aromas of wheat, citrus, light bananas, and some spices. Weaker aromas. Tastes of wheatiness, spices, and citrus. Lacing left on the glass. Cletus (5002), Connecticut, USA Jun 20, 2007 Growler courtesy of lukin013. Pours copper with a nice rocky white head. Smells of bananas, coriander, citrus and some dough. Tastes of sweet malt, some pepper, hints of honey and dry. Decent. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 31, 2007 Draft at Capone’s. I have no problem going on the record and stating that this is by far the finest witbier I have ever quaffed. The pour gives a fluffy, 1-finger white head that rests like a cloud on top of the body of the beer, which is a hazy, lemon pulpy gold color. The aroma is huge fruit, hops, spices, clove, coriander, banana, peaches in syrup, lemon, orange. Great fruity aroma with just enough clove and peppery notes, plus a Saazy hop presence. The taste is spicy, clovey, pale malty, and peachy up front, giving way to that Saazy hop presence, some yeasty notes, and a finishing burst of lemon, orange, and limey citrus. I love this beer. michael-pollack (2606), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 28, 2007 Draught: Medium sweet aroma. Smells of lemon, citrus, hops, a touch of bubblegum. Poured gold in color with a small white head that lasted throughout. Very good lacing. Hazy. Sparkling. Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of lemon, hops, bubblegum, wheat, and a bit of spices. Light to medium body. Sticky texture. Lively carbonation. Sweet lemon finish. Overall, ok, but too sweet. puzzl (2579), New York, New York, USA Mar 7, 2008 Growler shared by Lukin. Pale, corny, wheaty, somewhat yeasty aroma. Flavor is a bit thin, has some juicy yeasts and light spice. A bit muddy in the finish. Nate (2533), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 25, 2005 On draught at State College 8th Annual Festival. Nice spicy grassy Belgian wit aroma. Spice and pepper, lemon oil. Fruity with a farmhouse musky kick. Pale lemon juice appearance, cloudy with thin white head. Light bodied with mild carbonation. Starts with lemon and spice. Mild wheat flavor. Good spiciness, with coriander and pepper. Great bitter finish, light chalkiness, with light bitter after. A very nice witbier. kmweaver (2398), Sebastopol, California, USA Sep 2, 2008 Draft @ Map Room in Pittsburgh. Pours a hazy, medium golden color; white head with good retention and fine-bubbled lacing. Good, clear amounts of coriander, orange peel, and Belgian sugars; solid witte nose. Lively carbonation. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: Belgian sugars, coriander, and soft oranges and spicing; nicely toasted, crisp, and lively texture; very solid witte. Medium finish: coriander, lightly toasted malts, and Belgian sugars; dry, toasty. cheapdark (2011), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 20, 2007 Updated: Jul 11, 2008On tap at the Bocktown, such a great place! Smells like the lemon scented fruit erasers we used to get in art class! Hints of sourness and lemon grass are also in the aroma, very interesting. Gorgeous hazy wheat or wit appearance, the only thing missing is the muck on the bottom of the bottle, but this is a tap! Spicey mild initial flavor, very friendly, I really like the attitude of this brew. A great example of a wit and this is brewed right in my own back yard, forget about Europe! Gentleman mannerisms, very good tingly carbonation on the back of my throat but not excessive. Refreshingly good beer. That sour smell just keeps kicking on thru the session. I think I can now also detect some grassy of haylike smells in there to! Very enjoyable and fun complexities with an evolution of flavors. I better get a growler of this stuff. Finish is pleasant and easy to like. If you enjoy wit beer you better seek this out. Great overall tasting experience, I think I’ll have another!
