Nice yeasty aroma with orange peel, jasmine tea, and sweet pale malt. Light hoppy notes, floral, with a slight acidic-lactic tang. Butterscotch amber in color, hazy, with thin sudsy white lightly lacing head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Starts pretty sweet, with orange peel, jasmine tea, coriander, lemon zest and yeasty goodness. Mild lactic undertones. Finishes sweet with light yeast bitterness and very little hops. Mild after. Good saison but just a little sweet.

Aroma of spice, tea, and almost a sweet peach note. Pretty sweet with a bit of bitterness in the end. A slight peppery spice. A kind of fuller body than most saisons I’ve had. Decent, but not great.

Tasted on 7/20/11 from a 1-liter bottle obtained in a trade. Pours hazy bright orange with a thick white head that slowly recedes to a thin layer of even lace, leaving a ton of residue along the inside of the glass. The nose is spicy and lightly bitter with some kumquat tart fruit, and lightly sweet bread and toast aromas. The flavor is lightly sweet up front with the toasted bread malt, moving to the spicy and kumquat fruit notes, with a very light hint of earthy dry leaves as well. The body is medium with average, but stinging carbonation, and a medium toasted and spicy finish.

Reviewed from notes. Picked this bottle up at Capone’s. Pours a moderate orange color with a tiny white head. The nose brings some sweetness and a mild citrus presence. The taste doesn’t bring all that much yeast and just has a bit of sweet malt. Some really pale amounts of citrus. Feel is a bit cloying. Drinkability is average, and this doesn’t really have all that many characteristics of a good saison. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 11-10-2010

Poured into a tulip. This beer has a lot to live up too considering how good the 4th anniversary brew was. 4.0 A: Hazy orange brown color. Two fingers of pillowy white head with average retention and reasonable amounts of lacing. 4.0 S: Earthy hops. Plenty of spiciness going on here with emphasis on corriander, clove, and pepper. Orange peel, musty funkiness, and yeasty. 4.0 T: For the most part, follows the nose. Clove is the dominant spice, with pepper second, then corriander. A bit sweet and bready for a saison. Some hay funkiness, grassy hops, and chewy yeastiness. 3.5 M: Medium body, but heavier than average. This could use a bit more carbonation. Otherwise pretty smooth. 3.5 D: I drank the liter by myself, but I wish I had a buddy with me. A bit too sweet to drink this much. Otherwise, a fairly solid brew. Doesn’t even compare to Toaster, but I guess nothing ever will. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 08-07-2010 03:12:36

Bottle at the Funky 6. Hazy gold on the pour with a medium, white head. Holds a pleasant, natural aroma with notes of grass, herbs and citrus. Nice flavor, lightly sweet with crackery malts, some pepper and herbs, mild citrus and grass hops. Light to medium in body with average to lively carbonation. Dries out a bit in the finish, crisp and clean, slightly doughy and earthy, with notes of yeast, lemon, grains and grass. Wonderful beer.

1 liter swingtop; raiting #30; woot woot!! thanks Alex; hazy dark orange with thin, creamy white head; musky lemons, creamed wheat, orange peels, light slice; drinks win a nice creamy, dry spice, milky wheat texture; very nice overall with some heavy sweetness; lemon, light wheat and pale malt; some sweet, fruity hops; not a standard, dry saison, but I’m digging it

1L swingtop shared by riversideak. Hazed straw golden with plenty of lasting white head. Lemon, hay, bubblegum, wheat and I get some very light sulfur. Body is light to medium with plenty of carbonation. Lemon, hay wheaty bubblegum, and pepper on the finish. Little too much esters for me, but drinkable.
