COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular.
Our signature beer, Foundation Bitter, strives to be that elusive bitter that eschews pretension, is neither too hoppy nor too bland, is as good a second pint as a first, is great on its own, but accompanies food well. In short, a decent, honest sort of a pint.

Cask-conditioned at the London Beer Festival, Seven Stars, Bristol 6/12/2011. Amber with a decent, off-white head. Aroma of cereal malts, a touch of stoned fruit and dusty hops. Flavour had some solid malts, more fruit and long, bitter finish. Good.

Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Fest ’12. Amber to gold with white head. A fairly standard session type bitter, well balanced, crisp, bready malts, reasonable roastiness then a leafy fuggles type hop note. Does exactly what it says.

Clear medium amber color with a average, open and frothy to fizzy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, caramel, fruity, moderate hoppy, sweet hoppy, sweet orange - citrus, candy. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20111209]

Crosse Keys Spoons. Clear amber beer, tiny white head. Light dry palate. Nice hops! Mild but fresh and vibrant (so a nice change from the Spoons fest beers). Floral with light lime marmalade and a trace of tropical fruits. Finishes with minerals and the hops turning slightly more bitter. Decent and drinkable.

Cask, handpump at The Shoulder of Mutton, Wantage, Oxon, in company of Peter Fowler 28.03.12 Pours brown slight haze, small white head. Very good bitter, nicely citrus, Peter reckoned grassy and a little sileage but I didn’t get that, however I did get a good pushy lemony flavour underpinning a decent malty standard bitter, thoroughly enjoyed this and would happily session on this beer. (Cask at Southampton Arms, Kentish Town, London, 24 Nov 2011) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with apricots, grapefruit and orange peel. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of dried apricots, grapefruit and a fresh, citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with balanced sweetness. Quite nice and tasty.

Cask/gravity at the London Brewers 2011 showcase. Very nice sessionable bitter, malty with some dryish hop character to balance it out.

Cask at Southampton Arms. Aroma a bit nutty, and malty. Taste is similar with slight bitterness and a slight carmel sweetness. Maybe element of strawberry hidden in there somewhere. No carbonation at all, and quite thin-bodied.

Cask handpull at Craft Beer Co. Brown slight haze. Lasting thin beige head. Malty bitter aroma. Its a brown bitter but a decent one with a decent amount of hops on the finish. Yrs its a brown bitter but a fairly decent one at that. Ok bitter.

Cask Conditioned Handpump Southampton Arms London. An amber coloured beer with whitish bubbles. A very earthy aroma with some fruity notes. Grainy in the mouth with a decent amount of earthy hops. Very English in style with just a little extra hop to the normal brown bitter.
