(Cask at Southampton Arms, Kentish Town, London, 19 April 2012) Reddish brown colour with brief, beige head. Malty nose with notes of dried fruit, raisins, nuts and dark bread. Cask gravity, Derby Winter BF, 17/02/12. Pale ruby with a tan halo. Damson and blackberry jam aroma, lightly dusted. Solid berry-led taste with distracting plastic but a long smoky cigar, berry and milk choc aftertaste that redeems it. Good rounded bitter with a squirt of fresh berry character.
