3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Oddbins London Bridge. I’ve just heard the phrase "my father would have killed for a rectum of a horse." which puts everything into context doesn’t it? Dark brown beer with a lasting thick dark beige head. This is a very good best bitter. Brilliant malts, great peppery hop on the end. This is really good. A very good best bitter.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
A very dark bitter chestnut in colour and has only a thin film of a head however the sediment in the bottle is very fixed to the base and makes for and easy pouring ale. The flavours and aroma are very similar differing only in intensity, the aroma is a gentle and has a mild citrus and malt tones the flavour is the same however is far more intense, the hop really comes through and creates the bitterness which is slightly weakened by the malt content which leaves a bitter nutty flavour at the finish.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Oddbins Clapham. Colour is murky hazy darkish brown. The bottles been standing for a couple of days. Very slightly off white medium foam head. Nose is very nutty, chocolatey malt, woody, slight earthy, dryish green leaf hop. Taste is chocolatey malt, earthy hop, fruity hop, dryish hop, green leafy hop, pine and light menthol. A bitter but it’s quite complex with a blend of English hops with piney new world hops and lots of chocolatey malt.

Deep runy color, good brown head, lace. Aroma has caramel malts, dish cleanser citrus and berries. Light to medium bodied. Caramel malts, berries and quite aggressive hoppyness in the finish and aftertaste. Some darker malts lurking too. Interesting.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: APR 13, 2014 Large beige foamy head. Looks and smells nice in the glass with some light coriander spices. There is also fresh and pleasant tiny bubbles. However the wood/root very present palate overcomes a lighter taste and shy flavors.
