Cask & bottle; Regular.
A special dry-hopped version was produced for the Pigs Ear Beer Festival 2011.

A classic, crisp, lighter ale. Hoppy, but not overpowering, it’s a pleasant session quaff.

Bottle. An almost clear one, golden in color and with a small off-white head. The aroma is grassy and piney with some light caramel malts and a pleasant fruityness. Some cheesy hints in both aroma and flavor. Nice bitterness and a pleasant fruityness in the flavor, with a light caramel maltyness. Medium body, soft and smooth on the palate. Cheesy, fruity finish. 160220

Hippoman (646) - Durham, ENGLAND - JAN 19, 2016
Cask at The Bow Bells, Mile End, London, £3.90/pint. Hazy mid-amber pour with a thin, off-white head. The nose has a fair bit of depth with (over)ripe tropical fruit, basement aromas and a definite booziness to it, promising a complex beer that the taste fails to deliver. It reality the fruitiness came through a little oversweet and pleasant grainy bitterness was overshadowed by buttery character. Perhaps it wasn’t in the best condition but not one I enjoyed very much.

Bottle. My first from this brewery and an impressive start. Golden and clear. Small head and slightly fruity Finish is a subtle bitterness. For a four percenter this is hitting well above its weight.
