500ml bottle from Oddbins London Bridge. Black beer with lasting tan head. Lots of coffee on this. Quite a tasty stout. Last beer of a Friday evening tasting and certainly a good finishing beer. Full in mouth but not alcoholic. Decent coffee stout.

Darkish brown, beautiful fluffy head. Sweetish, a little thin and husky, vaguely nutty. Not great - the elements don’t come together.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown, close to black but not the industrial oil, imperial stout level. Not much of a head. You really have to work to get anything to appear and when it does, it is large-bubbled and beige. Aroma is roasted malts, somewhat coffee, quite a bit of oat. Lightly sour and light dark berries as well as light liquorice. Taste is semi-sweet. Quite a bit of roast and oats, some coffee. Light touch of liquorice. Medium with not much carbonation; not completely flat, but very little of it really.

Bottled 28/12/13. A black beer with an off-white head. A nice sweetish but lightly roasted malty nose to this stout. Oatmeally notes in the mouth. Good malts. A little sweetness. Quite tasty.

UPDATED: DEC 8, 2013 Cask at the Magpie, near-black with an off-white ring of foam, chocolate and a little coffee on the nose, body is sweetish with roast malt, treacle, winey hints, a little coffee and milk chocolate, and then a treacley slightly burnt-bitter finish. Nice (7-3-7-4-15). Re-rate at Pig’s Ear 2013, deep black-brown with a coffee crema. Vinous, lightly plummy and tart, touches of smoke and treacle, faint cocoa, delicious.
