500ml bottle from Oddbins London Bridge. Black beer with lasting tan head. Lots of coffee on this. Quite a tasty stout. Last beer of a Friday evening tasting and certainly a good finishing beer. Full in mouth but not alcoholic. Decent coffee stout.

Cask, The Salmon, Leicester. Near black with a dense beige head. Aromas are blackberries and dark cherry with earthy coffee. Some cream with some tart funkiness. Dark chocolate with floral aspects. Flavours are creamy with sweet berries and slightly funky yeast. Earthy roast malts with herbal notes. Dry on the finish with some grapefruit bitterness. Decent.

Cask at Gunmakers. It pours darkest browb, nr black with a minimal tan head. The nose is rich, roasty, coffee, earth, toast and treacle. The taste is smooth, roasty, toast, big coffee aspect, treacle and charred wood with a short, roasty finish. Medium body and low carbonation. A bit flat unfortunatly, but decent coffee aspect anyhow. Decent.

Darkish brown, beautiful fluffy head. Sweetish, a little thin and husky, vaguely nutty. Not great - the elements don’t come together.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown, close to black but not the industrial oil, imperial stout level. Not much of a head. You really have to work to get anything to appear and when it does, it is large-bubbled and beige. Aroma is roasted malts, somewhat coffee, quite a bit of oat. Lightly sour and light dark berries as well as light liquorice. Taste is semi-sweet. Quite a bit of roast and oats, some coffee. Light touch of liquorice. Medium with not much carbonation; not completely flat, but very little of it really.

Bottled 28/12/13. A black beer with an off-white head. A nice sweetish but lightly roasted malty nose to this stout. Oatmeally notes in the mouth. Good malts. A little sweetness. Quite tasty.
