Way too sour for my liking to even be considered good. The bartender described this as sweet?? WTF! Nothing sweet at all here. The cloudy mess was redeeming for its alcohol content only. Good ridence...

Draft at Ava’s Pizzeria & Wine Bar, St. Michael’s, MD on 07/26/13. Arrived at the table a hazy gold with a skim of a beige head. The aroma featured plenty of zesty citrus rinds, candi sugar, ripe bananas, and cloves. Went down fairly thin-bodied and watery. The taste started quite sweet with lots of candi sugar, bananas, and a strange soggy graham cracker flavor. Honey and lemons followed. Zesty citrus rinds and some spiciness comprised the finish. This tasted a little odd to me - like it was brewed with dirty water or something.

Serving: Draft at the 45th Street Tap House. Pours a cloudy yellow with no head. The nose has slight lemon, banana, and clove notes. The flavor follows suit with a touch of yeast and wheat notes. Dry, clean finish. Nothing remarkable but inoffensive and drinkable.

Man The banana and clove pop in this one. Nice creamy mouth feel. On tap all over Ocean City. I have had it multiple times this week!

Hazy gold, frothy white head drops quick to a small bubbled white collar clinging to the edges of the glass. Nose is a bit harsh and unripe, incredibly dusty, some fruit skin, green banana and grains. Flavor is sweeter, less rough with more banana than nose, light citrus at front, more grain and pepper in finish, bit of plant stalk as well.

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2013 Had on tap at the brewery. Also had a growler filled to go (apparently the first person to have a growler filled since they were permitted by law to fill them!). A: Pale yellow-wheat colored body with an inch or so of white foam on top. Spotty lacing and good retention. S: Very clean and bright aromas. Banana, wheat, light lemon-citrus, a little orange zest and clove. T: Like the nose, this is bold and bright with lots of light citric fruits and a healthy dose of banana. Undercurrent of wheat throughout and clove in the backend. M: Smooth, light-medium bodied. Refreshing finish with a nice effervescence. O: Right up there with some of the better American hefeweizens like Live Oak. Nice to see a small brewery pumping out a quality brew like this.
