Bottled. Pitch black coloured. Brown dense head. Burnt sugar, berries and roast. Quite intense. Light coffee, chocolate and alcoholwarmth in the flavour. Full bodied. Is roasted in the end. Is quite mild and balanced. Great beer.

Bottled. Black. Loads of berries and some chocolate in the aroma. Sweetish flavour of berries, chocolate and malts with a roasty and bitter finish. Full bodied. Very nice.

Black, hazy body. Aroma of liquor and hops (grass). Moderately bitter, lightly sweet initial flavour. Lightly sweet finish. Quite complex flavour. Soft mouthfeel, winey.

Bottle at LCRBM 2006. Very dark brown with no head. Not a huge aroma, but then nice juicy/grainy malt. Another good beer from E&S

Black coloured, small off-white head. Sweet coffee-blackcurrent aroma, roasted, nothing too special. Rather bitter ending, strong coffee-sweet taste. Not bad.

[2nd Low Countries RateBeer Meeting] Aroma of coffee and black currant. Clear, black-brown coloured with a thin, brown head. Taste is quite sweet, bit sour and more bitter in the finish. Malts (chocolate/coffee) and blackcurrant. Sticky stuff.

LCRBM2: light coffee and stronger blackcurrant aroma. Fruity sweet flavor, woody and alcoholic. Cherry. Porto. Sticky mouthfeel. Quite likeable.
