COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle from Olbutikken, Copenhagen. Head is initially average sized, frothy, brown, mostly lasting. Body is dark brown to black. Aroma is moderately malty (roasted grain, dark chocolate), with light notes of vanilla, juniper, mint, cassis. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. A bit tart for me and less richness in the mouth than the 8.1% would suggest, but purty good...nice aroma.

Bottle 33cl toft vin. lack pour with a beige thin head, rich dark treacle and burnt plum nose. Burnt barley bitterness, dry liquorice and black treacle, then a hoppy burnt-bitter finish - excellent! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Deep black with translucent edge. Fast fading head. Nose wasn’t strong but it wasn’t in the best glass...aromas of anise, light tar, roast malt. Taste follows with round slightly sweet middle. Solid imperial style stout that tends to the savory side.

Bottle, 33 cl, bought at the brewery. Black with a creamy off-white 1 finger thick, lasting head and nice lacings. Heavy notes of øllebrød and heavy roast in the nose with hints of dark berries and licorice. Not as much øllebrød as licorice in the flavor. Very heavy roasted and lovely bitter. Long bitter finish and a very creamy texture. Palate might be a little simple, but lots and lots of flavor and extremely high drinkabillity.
