Upasteuriseret. Ufiltreret. Dark lager er en klassisk midt-europæisk, lidt mørk, øltype. Den er dejlig letdrikkelig og egner sig mægtigt til mad med god smag.

Bottle at home. Clear dark brown with a brown head, nice lacings. Aroma medium malty (caramel, roasted). Flavor light to medium sweet, light bitter. Medium body. Missing notes of licorice, dark chocolate etc., but ok.

On tap, shared full pint at source, Jernhatten cykeltur 08/2015. Basically a Schwarzbier/tmavy cover, doing a good job of mimicking the roasted hazelnut and dusty liquorice manure of a former GDR Schwarz, whilst offering a tighter, cracker malt base for sessionability. Good présence and chocolate roast despite watery pockets.

Gusher, far too fast to be caught, leaving me, chair, floor, table, and laptop covered in sweet sticky beer. By the time cleaning is finished, head is thin beige. Hazy opaque dark brown body. Fruity roasty bubblegum aroma with licorice notes. Sweet roasty licorice taste with earthy soy sauce notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, flat, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish earthy bubblegum aftertaste with licorice and spice notes. It’s ok, but loses points for the gushing. (0.33l bottle, from Fish & Beer, Copenhagen. Shortly after this my laptop died, requiring screen to be replaced. Most expensive beer ever.)

0.33 bottle. Very dark brown color and a small, beige head. Sweet aroma of dark malts, syrup, dark chocolate, banana candies, and hints of yeasts. Taste is also malty and rather sweet; some dark chocolate, smoke, and unfortunate metallic hints. Medium body, slick texture, and average carbonation. Finish is also malty, has a nice leathery, cereal touch. Overall it’s an alright beer, nothing special but then again I have never been particularly fond of the style.

Clear, dark brown. Small offwhite head. Malty, dried fruit aroma. Roasted flavour, fruity, rather light. Short, fluffy finish.

Bottle, 5.3%. Citric and farty aroma. Black colour, seems clear. Small tan head. The flavour is malty with a hint of sweet liquorice. It has a little paper in the finish and is a little too dry for my tastes. But the dark malts taste OK.

Bottle. Pours hazy coffee brown with airy tan head. Clear aroma of yeast, with notes of hops and malt. Sweetish flavour of caramel malt, with roasty and estery notes. Rough and slightly bitter aftertaste. An okay Dunkel but nothing really special as such.

Dark brown with small white head. Aroma roasted malts, rye bread. Taste sweet roasted malts and a little hopp in the finish.A fine thirst quencher and works well with lunch.
