Tap pour@Source, 08/2015. Mild but fresh continental IPA with good dry caramels, Liberty Ale style, and prominent damp citrus resins. Good strength and presence for a brewpub, if easily overshadowed by their extra Dryhopped version on parallel tap.

Fad.

Draught at Åens Øl. Hazy, amber- golden colour with a thin, white head. Fruity aroma with citrus, caramel, floral hops, peach and a hint of grape. Taste is bitter. Medium body, creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes dry and bitter with caramel malts and citrus fruits. Nice, middle of the road IPA.

The label promises that the beer is full with American hops, but it does not reveal itself in the fragrance. What’s worse, it could simply not be recognized in the taste. The content seems quite thin, yes even watery. The malt gives no real contribution. If I really exert myself, I can taste something liquorice which is not exactly a typical hop flavor, but tasted before. Has an expiry date in February 2015 and I can well suspect that it is not a completely fresh copy I’ve stuck my tongue into. Maybe something of the fragrance and taste evaporated?

0.33 bottle. Little hazy, dark amber color and a medium-sized, off-white head. Strong aroma of hops, mangoes, peaches, papayas, delicate grass. Taste is hoppy and bitter as expected but sweet, floral and fruity notes shine through at times. Medium to full body, slick texture, and lively carbonation. Finish is very long and bitter but then again one should not expect anything else. Overall an alright IPA.

Draught @ Frederik VI. Appearance: pours cloudy golden with medium, white head with good lacing. aroma/taste: grain/bread, citrus and floral notes. palette: medium carbonation, medium body, some caramel sweetness, average bitterness, medium duration and an oily texture. Overall: ok ipa
