Das Adam Riese ist ein unheimlich würziges, kräftiges und dunkles Spezialbier nach Ur-Fränkischer Art. Es wurde speziell 1992 zum 500jährigen Gedenken an Rechenmeister Adam Riese eingebraut.

(bottle) Clear, amber to slightly copper colour with a mid-sized off-white foamy head. Slightly dusty toast-malty aroma with notes of caramel and shy herbal hops. Moderately sweet and faint bitter flavour, medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Toasty malt-character with caramel and traces of cacao; medium-dry, toasty and sweet-bitter finish with obvious and warming notes of alcohol. 02.V.10

It’s dark, red-brown with a creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel and straw. Te flavour is moderately sweet with notes of malt, nuts, caramel and the finish is dry with notes of straw and citrus.

Bottle from the E-center in Bad Staffelstein. Chestnut coloured with a slight head. Slightly sweet caramel aroma with some almond nuttiness. Flavours of red fruit and toffee with an abrupt dry finish. Ok.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear brown colour. Stable tan head, plasticky. The flavour is OK roasted, almost like some brown ales. Has a vinous touch, but very faint, giving it a bit of character. Clean finish, slightly watery.

Clear amber color, small white head. Toasted sugary, a bit smokey aroma. Sweetish toasted flavor, a bit sugary, grassy hoppyness. Light bitterness in the aftertaste.

Dark coppery colored with little yellow head. Chocolaty-caramelly aroma with sweetness here. Thin to medium bodied. Flavor is more hopped with chocolate and roastiness, aftertaste dries with chocolate still. Good beer.

(bottle) pours a clear dark copper colour with a frothy beige head. aroma of roasted malts, cherries, vanilla and herbal hops, slightly musty in a good way. flavour is mostly toasted grainy malts with a hint of earth and caramel. medium-bodied with average carbonation.
