bouteille 33cl.

Bottle from Beer Temple. Dark brown with big puffy head. Nose is malty and sweet, lots of maple syrup. Taste is sweet, malty with notes of ginger. Lots of maple. Pretty good although the sweetness what overpowering.

Bottled. The aroma has caramel, dried fruits, red berries. Hazy, brown-red coloured beer with a firm, off-white head. The taste is sweet, has red berries, toffee, dried fruits. Medium bodied, light siruppy. Nice.

Thank you to share this one with me! If I read the comments here, I’m pretty sure we got a bad bottle... still was good for a year or so, but I didn’t get this good feeling about this beer at all... Little sour smell, spices, fruits, lots of spices, something anice/mint like. Weird. Head is ok, but don(t hold good. Taste kicks very hard in. Sour fruits and spices. Completly out of balane, totally not my taste. To not just say bad... Have to retry this one some day, cause this can’t be how it’s ment to taste.

Bottle, bought @ Beer Planet, Brussels.
Serious gusher! Pours muddy dark brown - looks as if a lot of small yeast particles comes along. Big, frothy, off-white head that stays for some time. Aroma has clear maple syrup sweetness, coriander, some pepper, caramel, light chocolate. Medium carbonation, light prickly, okay dryish mouthfeel. Flavour is quite sugary sweet, there is clear notes of the maple syrup, some caramel and milky chocolate. There are loads of warm raisins (glögg) notes as well. Fair malty bitterness with some yeasty notes and light viniousness at the end. Okay.

Dark, what one would expect from an 8% strong beer fortified with maple syrup. Taste starts off like a normal ale, but then the alcohol comes through rather sharply, and finishes with a sweet syrup taste and feel.

Dark brown with a reddish tinge. Alcohol aroma with a deep, dark fruit character, hints of spice and pumpkin...nicely complex. On the palate, complex again with pumpkiny qualities (not a pumpkin beer, though), great burnt sugar notes and complex fruits.

Bottle to celebrate the victory of Team Canada in the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics! Opaque, almost muddy brown with excellent head retention. The head is tight, thick, beige, and creamy. Aromas are sweet in a good way, and enticing with lots of maple complexity, gingerbread, cinnamon. Smells a lot like a pumpkin beer with that type of spice profile. Soft mouthfeel with some alcohol in the finish. However, it remains sweet and tastes a bit simpler than it smells. Still has lots of nice maple sugar character and a lingering gingerbread finish with a hint of spicy bitterness. Almost a spice bomb, but it’s much better than expected! Go Canada :)
