A dark ruby brown ale with a nice lacing light moka head. Interesting aroma of coriander, lemon, cinnamon and maple. In mouth, two layers of sweetness, the one from candy sugar, with its peated wood notes, typical of Belgian browns, the other layer, the sickly sweet sugar syrup, or like Paspoe said, cough syrup sweetness. Still, nice curacao notes. Alcohol burn in final. Bieropholie import, BB 21/12/11

Bottle@Home. Raisin and jasmin aroma. Ruby color, beige small head, good lace. Very sweet, light bitter, jasmin, spiced, maple syrup? Very sticky, sparkling, light warming. Too sweet but overall interesting.

A dark brown beer with a nice lacy beige head. Aroma is very vinious. Also some sourness and after a while some dark fruits. Nice sweet fruity flavors. Some alcohol (at the end), burned caramel and malts. Maybe a bit to much?

(Bottle 33 cl) A beautifully warm, reddish beer with a dense, off-white head. Unusual, spicy and sweet aroma. Full body, quite sweet with some burned caramel. And also some strange accents that mostly remind me of cough syrup. Subdued bitterness. An interesting and unusual beer, but I’m not sure if I actually like this. 211007

Bottle - 330ml. Dark brown hazy body with average carbonation and a decent beige bubbly head. Malty/hoppy aroma with yeasty and brown sugar notes. Taste carries sweet (maple syrup) and fruity hints. Ends with an enjoyable warming finish.

Clear dark/brown almost rubis poor with a frothy beige head. Aromas of cental wood, roasted malts, cinnamon, nutmeg, maple syrup and a nice bushy smell to it. Very sweet palate with a balanced bitter mouthfeel. Added orange flavors with a celery salt twist. Good effervescence and a medium body. Again very sweet but balanced enough to even things out.

Bottle (330ml). Via trade with Boutip. Poured deep clear ruby with a large, lasting, fizzy-foamy straw-coloured head. The main component of the aroma seems to be tart, almost sour fruity malt, with strong background sweetness, and and undertone of herbal/perfume hops. The taste follows, be less sour, more dry spice and yeast, the herbal hops move up to the front - almost has peaty character, and it’s very warming. Average body, strongly carbonated - the malt drops off quickly, but the background of tartness, spice and bitterness fills the gap nicely. By the end of the bottle I was looking around for more ...

33 cl bottle via Lubiere, served cold in a tulip glass. AU30/07.

App.: Deep copper, clear, huge tan head. Aroma: Tangy and very herbal – reminds me a lot of cola or rootbeer, molasses and brown sugar, bright organic acids, full and luscious. Palate: Medium body and medium effervescence. Flav.: Much like the nose – plenty of herbal, sweet malts, a touch woody; fairly sweet and a touch alcoholic; leaves an impression of medium roasted malts, a touch of bitterness and just a touch of alcohol.

Really nice.
