3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 duff (5484) - Lund, SWEDEN - APR 24, 2006
Bottle@Delirium, Brussels. Smells a touch old/oxodised. Sweetish, sticky, with touches of soy, slightly bockish. Too sticky with some bruised/steweed fruits and caramel.

Bottled. A very dark brown beer with a lovely big thick long-lasting tan coloured head, and good lacing. The aroma is full of cinnamon together with sweet sugars and a little yeast. The taste is also spicy and full bodied, but it is oh so sweet. It has the Ecaussines character but with a ton of sugar cane thrown in. Very nice at the first taste but soon becomes tough going.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 bierkoning (8947) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - DEC 19, 2005
Dark brown, big frothy head. Pear drups and a hint of roast in the aroma. Caramel and ginger in the flavor. A touch of sourness. They should have warned me on the label. I don’t like ginger. Nevertheless a sweet, but fairly well made beer.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 fiulijn (12179) - Malmö, DENMARK - OCT 12, 2005
Keg Hazy dark amber color. Good mix of spices in the aroma. Malty, mellow, spicy, extreme Christmas beer, but very pleasant for me. Ends with chewy caramel and fudge as well.

Bottle@Criterion, Leicester. Dark beer with a strong head. The aroma is heavily malty and the flavour is malty and syrupy. Overall a great beer.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 MesandSim (7118) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 20, 2005
a sim rate:
I tried. I really tried. It was overly-fizzy upon pouring and all went downhill from there. The first sip was way too strong. I wasn’t quite sure if it was sweet or savory. Cinnamon. No, bovril. No, rosemary. No, sugar. No, clove. It’s awful. The palate is too syrupy. The taste is too overwhelming. I can’t make out what I’m drinking and that frightens me. Sorry. Drain pour.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Ungstrup (26212) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JUN 4, 2005
[At Københavnske Øldage 2005] A hazy red-brown beer iwth a huge brown head. Both the aroma and flavor are sweet and very spicy, I can only pick out cinnamon, but there is much more I can’t put names on - but no matter it tastes good. The end is dry with a slight alcohol bite. A very pleasant surprise.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 ThomasE (5176) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAY 25, 2005
Murky brown colour with a tan head. Yeasty, earthy aroma with some chocolate notes. Very sweet malty taste with dried dark fruit in a long sweet finish.

Bottled at DBF 2005.
Hazy brown coloured with a huge off white head.
Sweet aroma of cane sugar, grain and malts.
Extremely sweet and cloying flavour with lots of sugar and notes of malts.
Reminds me of a danish low alcohol (mørk hvidtøl), but this one is sweeter.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 leaparsons (7069) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - MAY 20, 2005
Bottle, from "The Offie", Leicester. Dark brown with a scummy beige head. Aromas are very sweet malts with some spices, too sugary for me. Flavours are sweet and malty with spices, especially spicy ginger. Fairly dry on the aftertaste. Far too sweet for my taste buds.
