Lubiere (3123), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Jun 30, 2008 A hazy orange amber ale with a thick white head. Aroma is chemical and unpleasant, like lemon pledge or Redoxon Vitamin C. In mouth, not as bad, with very sweet malt, but with a ginger overkill, yeasts and warming alcohol. Gets more intense as beer warms up. This is definitely a winter beer. BB 07/06/11. HogTownHarry (3118), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Apr 27, 2008 Bottle (330ml). Via trade with glouglouburp. Very cloudy orange pour, small frothy head. Light aroma - sweet, spicy and floral, some noticeable alcohol. Taste - my that’s nice - sweet, but nice - sweet spicy citrus juice, ginger ale and floral/herbal bitterness (some). Light body, mildly carbonated, a little strong with the alcohol as it warms, no unpleasantness at all in flavour or aftertaste - quite a sweet little treat! Nothing like any cookie I’ve ever had, but I’d try one of those speculoos if offered. (my wife said "gingersnaps!" before I showed her the bottle) Bart (1208), Vosselaar, Belgium Apr 21, 2008 Blond yellow coloured beer with some yeast particles and a small white head. Herby specific spicy aroma. Full palate. Finish is full malty, herby/spicy. Very special one. Yves (228), Beerse, Belgium Apr 20, 2008 Hazy blond coloured beer. Medium white head. Very herby aroma. Full yeasty palate. Yeasty fruity ending a little bitterness in the background.
