Eructoblaster (2955) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 16, 2007
Bottle - 330ml. Pours a golden hazy body topped with an average white foamy head. Its malty/hoppy aroma carries some spicy hints. Taste is well balanced. Some spicy, fruity, and herbal notes are detectable, and alcohol is well hidden. Ends with a decent bittersweet finish.

Miksu (4938) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - OCT 13, 2007
0.33 l bottle. Hazy golden color with big white head. The aroma and flavor is dominated by christmas cookie spices: Ginger, cinnamon, cardamon and clove. The taste is also fairly sweet with warming alcohols. Very odd beer.

Unclear orange with off white bubbly foam. Very spicy - cinnamon/ginger all over. Medium bodied. Sweetness. Aroma a bit more powerfull than taste. Drinkable - but not very nice!

Boutip (4642) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 13, 2007
Bottle: Poured a deep cloudy golden color ale with a huge pure white foamy head with excellent retention. Aroma of cookie dough and sweet malt are dominating. Taste is also dominated by some sweet malt and some sweet cookie dough notes. Texture is oily with a quite full body and some medium carbonation. A well intentioned beer that is just too sweet for its own good.

french tickler (649) - Aylmer, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 20, 2007
Golden light amber with a medium head. Aromas of fresh yeast and many spices, cloves, cinnamon, santal wood, musk, ginger and spice cake. Very unique aromas. Flavors are much like its aromas with added candy sugar without the musk. Well balanced and its sweetness is nice as well but lacking in the bitter department. Overall, very impressive.

probstblueribbon (2864) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 16, 2007
330 mL bottle via Lubiere, served cold in a tulip glass.

App.: Fairly deep golden-amber, clear, smallish white head. Aroma: Lots of dried ginger (like ginger snaps, as expected), definite doughy-yeasty notes behind that, some cereal/crystal malt, a little brown sugar; Palate: Medium-light body, medium carbonation. Flav.: True to the nose and the name – Specula cookies all the way; some alcohol is evident, somewhat sweet; lingering spices and alcohol in swallowing.

Not awful, but I wouldn’t search out another one. On the other hand, you can’t get a buzz from a cookie, so this has its merits.

Tasted 2007-05-12. Dense yellow colour. Cloves, banana - not much more. Not at all cookie!
