Blond beer of 8% alc with the taste of a famous belgian cookie (speculoos).

A hazy orange amber ale with a thick white head. Aroma is chemical and unpleasant, like lemon pledge or Redoxon Vitamin C. In mouth, not as bad, with very sweet malt, but with a ginger overkill, yeasts and warming alcohol. Gets more intense as beer warms up. This is definitely a winter beer. BB 07/06/11.

Bottle (330ml). Via trade with glouglouburp. Very cloudy orange pour, small frothy head. Light aroma - sweet, spicy and floral, some noticeable alcohol. Taste - my thatís nice - sweet, but nice - sweet spicy citrus juice, ginger ale and floral/herbal bitterness (some). Light body, mildly carbonated, a little strong with the alcohol as it warms, no unpleasantness at all in flavour or aftertaste - quite a sweet little treat! Nothing like any cookie Iíve ever had, but Iíd try one of those speculoos if offered. (my wife said "gingersnaps!" before I showed her the bottle)

to say it tastes like a cookie would be understatement. Definitely a sugar cookie. Too syrupy. Kentish hops and pilsener malt. The ginger and cinnamon are too shy to notice. The top-fermenting is a plus, as is the cloudy look. With such a simple taste, how did this win an award? (on tap for ale festival at the standing order, new town, edinburgh, scotland).

Cask, but I presume not conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Hazed gold with no head. What on earth was this, very sweet, malty and spiced, everything I donít really like in a beer. Yeasty and bready, quite poor.

Cask at Bankers Draft (JDW), Bedford, in Wetherspoons Real Ale Festival. Hazy gold with a small white head and a slight spicy aroma. Very sweet taste, rather bready, with ginger and cinnamon. Slight dry finish. Not beer as we know it, but I quite liked it.

Cask - JDW, Canterbury. I think itís fairly safe to say that this can be summed up in one word: sweet. One shouldnít really expect something named íCookie Beerí to be anything other than sweet though, I suppose. Itís a hazy orange beer with a frothy white head. The aromas are sweet with some doughy biscuit notes (shock horror!) and, at times, also hints of boiled sweets in the background. The flavours are typically Belgian on the surface with more biscuity characteristics. Surprisingly clean palate texture with no bitterness. Rather interesting and better than I had expected.

Bottle. Unclear golden colour with a huge white head. Little aroma of coockie, malt and some yeast-like. Malty flavour with a lot of caramel, very sweet. Hard to find the 8 % alcohol. Sweet and little bitter finish.
