Defreni (2603) - Husum, DENMARK - JAN 4, 2008
Flaske.

(Bottle 33 cl) Hazy, amber golden with an off-white head. Sweetish, spicy nose with a fruity touch. Medium body, very sweet and sugary with spicy, cardamom notes of "Speculaas" cookies. No bitterness. Too much on the sweet side but quite interesting indeed. 281107

Comments: Perhaps it is the name, but this felt like a biscuity, sweetish and yeast, sweet and spicy Belgian ale of average quality.

Bottle at No.5. Hazy, yellow with a large head, good lacings. Aroma heavy malty (cookies, bread, cinnamon, ginger, cardamum, spices). Flavor heavy sweet. Medium body. Very special.

The pour reveals a cloudy orange color with yellow highlights and swirling yeast sediment, the head is white with a medium thickness that diminishes to thin. The aroma is somewhat interesting, there is some yeast presence with dough and cookies, there’s also a pleasant spicy and sweet character that reminds me of some cookies. The flavor doesn’t knock you on you back, it has a pleasant blend of doughy yeast with spicy and sweet cookies. It makes for a nice, quiet experience. It helps that the body is soft and plushy. I had no expectations about this beer and it has been hanging for a while in the fridge, but I’m happy to have finally sampled it.

Good balance of bitterness and malt makes this beer much better than I expected.I enjoyed what it had to offer. In many ways it is like the speculoos cookies it is modeled after. It is sweet-spicy and enjoyable, without needing to blow your mind.

Bottle: Poured a murky orange color, with a jello white head. The aroma is sweet with spice and hops. Taste is fruit with a ginger like spice, the finish is a bit metal and hops. What is cookie about this?

Eructoblaster (2994) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 16, 2007
Bottle - 330ml. Pours a golden hazy body topped with an average white foamy head. Its malty/hoppy aroma carries some spicy hints. Taste is well balanced. Some spicy, fruity, and herbal notes are detectable, and alcohol is well hidden. Ends with a decent bittersweet finish.

Miksu (4947) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - OCT 13, 2007
0.33 l bottle. Hazy golden color with big white head. The aroma and flavor is dominated by christmas cookie spices: Ginger, cinnamon, cardamon and clove. The taste is also fairly sweet with warming alcohols. Very odd beer.
