3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. High creamy off-white and long lasting head. Hazy orange body with a good deal of yeast sediments and apparently also a good deal of carbonation. Nice and sweet fruity aroma of peaches and pears. The peach is also evident in the flavor which is otherwise dry with a fair amount of hops bitternes. Short aftertaste. Not as much carbonation as it looked like. The relatively high alcohol percentage is well hidden.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Slight cloudy yellow gold hue, with a white head, but falls quickly, yeasty, fruity, grainy pale malt, with a sweet honeyed accent, with some candi sugar sweetness, hint of corainder spiciness in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a sweet alcoholic pale malt character, with a smooth candi sugar, kind of a corny accent, with a fruity ripe apples, with some honey and cinnamon spiciness, a subtle floral hop note, leading towards a warmth alcoholic, malty, honeyed finish.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: SEP 1, 2007 bottled. Why does the cookie on the label of the bottle look more like a piece of toast? Golden with thin creamy white head. Smells yummy! Like gingerbread cookies / jamaican ginger cake. Spicey and sweet ginger and some banana. Tastes awful. Loads of spicey ginger and really sweet syrup. I think if I were to drink my Starbucks gingerbread syrup straight, it would taste like this. If only it weren’t so sweet, it might be decent. sigh.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thin white head on a hazy orange body. Sweetish, really tastes like Belgian cookies, hence better as dessert beer. Refreshing, but be careful what you eat with it. Not all courses enhance its taste. Better with cakes, cream, sweet courses. In fat it is impossible to judge a beer without consideration to eating : the same beer may be perfect with one type of food and taste completely out of place with another. Stand-alone judgment is almost impossible, except for thirst-quenchers. I’m lucky I mostly drink beer when I eat.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
(Bottled) Hazy golden color with a smallish, firm head. Spicy cookies aroma with coriander, cinnamon, etc. Very sweet and sugary, orange-fruity and ginger-peppery-spicy flavor. Medium-bodied, sugary palate with foamy, medium carbonation. Not quite hopeless, but certainly not something you’d actually want to drink more than a few sips. It’s good, that the Belgians experiment with different flavor. Unfortunately they only rarely really hit the spot.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
If you love Bastogne cookies, you’ll love this beer too! It’s amber with a nice and lasting head. The aroma has clear notes of Bastogne cookies and cinnamon. The flavour is quite sweet and the Bastogne cookies are so dominant, that it’s like drinking them :) I liked this one, and it gets extra points for fantasy and fun.
