COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
(Translated from the Japanese on the can) We’ve used the delicious water and Koshihikari rice that Niigata’s nature has provided and made this in a German-style decoction mash. This is a dry beer with a crisp palate and finish.

Gusher. Medium offwhite coarseish head doesn’t last. Clear yellow body with carbonation of big fast bubbles. Sugary grainy grassy aroma. Dry-sweetish delicate floral fruity taste with herbal notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, smooth mouthfeel with slight fizz. Dry-sweet grainy grapes aftertaste with herbal notes. Very delicate. Perhaps too delicate, even. (0.5l bottle, CitySuper IFC, Central, Hong Kong.)

Bottle in Brisbane. Above average for a pale lager. Aromas of hay, wet leaves, and citrus. Taste is sweet, with short legs. Palate is oily, and medium bodied. Pale yellow, with no head.

500mL at some random place in DC. Above Thai Tanic? Seriously, where am I? Pours with a clear yellow SRM topped by soda fizz. Nose is candy corn and metals with rust and blood iron content. Taste is metallic, super blood iron heavy. Palate is sticky with old candies and sharp metals. Gross.

Very enjoyable beer. Aroma is rather faint and appearance is light amber with thin head. Flavour though is very clean and pure with a mouth filling texture and balance of light sweetness and delicate finish.

330ml bottle pours a pale golden color with a small white head that settles to a few spots of lacing on glass. Aroma is grainy with some hops. Taste is light malty sweetness and a crisp hoppy bitter finish. A small step up from the standard macro-lagers available.

UPDATED: OCT 11, 2011 bottle. sweaty pear cider and sweet corn and rice pudding nose. sharp, twangy, biting edge, seemingly boozy at 5%. watery with fizzy loose carbonation, flabby body. malt liquor finish.

Bottle split with Vi, Ken and Daddy Vuong. Pours a clear amber body with nice one finger frothy head. Aroma is crisp, clean sweet malts and grain. Mouthfeel is crisp and refreshing with notes of plain sweet malts. A great pale lager.

RedSox2004 (977) - Pacific Palisades, California, USA - OCT 1, 2011
Crystal clear pale yellow with a small bright white fizzy head that disappeared quickly and left little lacing. Maltiness reminiscent of an American lager but somewhat richer. Very clean and crisp on the palate.

17oz bottle at Sen in Sag Harbor, NY. Pint glass (unfortunately). Pours a brilliant clear straw colour with a frothy, yet short-lived head. Minimal lacing. The aroma is simialr to a good Munich Helles with slightly less sulfury notes. Sweet grainy malt and flowery/grassy noble hop aroma is well executed. The flavour is equally intense on the noble aroma. Softy sweet malt graces and leaves the palate shortly after. Extremely dry and crushable. Mouthfeel is extremely spritzy and slightly watery, but that’s what the style is about so a high score for this perfectly executed pale lager is appropriate. Bomb titties crushable. A perfect refresher to have with sashimi.
