COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
(Translated from the Japanese on the can) We’ve used the delicious water and Koshihikari rice that Niigata’s nature has provided and made this in a German-style decoction mash. This is a dry beer with a crisp palate and finish.

Pours a light golden. Aroma is light, and malty. Taste is very light, slightly citric.

Bottle from Brewers Haven. Smells and tastes like an adjunct lager, possible a little light struck funk to go with it. Pale golden with musty grain aroma (rice?). Taste is more grain, export lager quality.

650 mml bottle tasted on the 14/06/2015. Golden colour with bad retention. Aroma of malts and grains. Taste is watery and grainy. Next one please!

Bottle. And it’s a crappy and cheap export lager. It tastes stale and a little sweet with little real character to it. A bit of corn and bleh.

Golden color with a white head that quickly diminishes. Aroma has grassy notes, light malts and hay. Light maltiness with a light sweetness. Watery on palate.

Smells like a wet basement. Golden water color. Light smooth malt, easy drinker not skunky refreshing. Light and smooth.

Piwo ryżowe i ten aromat i smak jest wyczuwalny, słodkie orzeżwiające. Łagodna goryczka. Pijalne ale brakuje mu charakteru. Pite z butelki.

An interesting rice beer. Pours an ugly pee yellow with a white head. Smells a bit of sweet rice and sake. Taste is more creamy then expected, with a sweet rice throughout. Nice finish. Paired with Thai shrimp rolls, more sweetness and a bit of ginger is brought out. Had in the bottle. 997

It’s a lager. Little else to say. Light malts, a bit of sweetness. Refreshing but not too memorable.

Location: Bottle at The General, 8/30/14

Aroma: The aroma is similar to most pale lagers, slightly sweeter, light hop, notes of rice
Appearance: It pours a golden-orange color with a fairly small head and light lace
Flavor: The flavor is light as well, with a bit of sweetness, and a mild bitterness
Palate: The body is light with plenty of carbonation, not as watery as many of the pale lagers around
Overall Impression: I thought this was a pretty decent example example of a pale lager. It has more flavor than many in the style, and comes off as less watery as well. Not a great beer, but you could do a lot worse.
