Golden but with no head and some large bubbles. The aroma has a toasty, biscuity character. A more watery body has still a somewhat biscuity accent and only a shade of herbal hop.

As a non-Japanese reader it’s hard to decipher the labels between all these Echigo products... this one definimately says "organic" on the bottom so I think I’m good. Has a decent but foamy head and that average yellow body. Aroma is corn with some slight earthiness, which tells me perhaps it is in fact an organic brew! flavour is a mix of rice adjunct and grain with some grassy notes. The grassiness makes all the difference though for these macro brews: it feels less fake and is a bit easier to suck down. Just a bit.

Medium coarseish offwhite head doesn’t last. Yellow body. Herbal fruity earthy aroma with grassy notes. Dry-sweet musty earthy herbal taste with grassy plastic notes. Mid-bodied. Dusty mouthfeel. Dry earthy apple aftertaste with dusty strawy notes. Urgh. (0.33l bottle shared by hcalsos. He brought it from Hong Kong. I suspect it’s been mistreated somewhere. Should rerate.)

Beershine (4725) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - JAN 15, 2010
Bottle from Hong Kong. Warm darker gold and clear with a chill haze and no head retention. Soft, healthy grain aromas. Smells like multigrain cereal. Soft palate is a little prickly but has medium carbonation. Sweetish entry and middle then a dry grassy finish. Clean and unexciting.

KyotoLefty (3760) - Kyoto, JAPAN - OCT 27, 2008
Can. Brewed by Echigo for Japan Beer. Not sure if it is the same as ’Premium Organic’ or not, but it is packaged without reference to Echigo. Deep golden color, quickly dissipating head. Color nice. Rich malty flavor, cereals and grains, biscuits. A touch of fruit, but mostly big grains. Flavor also big on grain. Sweet, malty, rich, with light hops. Slightly fruity and hoppy finish, just enough to keep it balanced. A bit of lingering bitterness. Overall, malt-centered, like an export. Nothing really special about it, but it certainly is a reliable lager. Good price too.
