Strong caramel flavor--but not super sweet. A little bready flavor... Fruity aroma from yeast and/or hops. Wondering how old the bottle is; has a little stale caramel flavor, but still pretty good.
Thanks to Dell for sharing this expensive-ass beer.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle, thanks to Dell. Huge caramel aroma. The caramel character dominates, fruity, herbal. A solid red ale. Fruity, caramely, dry finish.

330ml can bought at CitySuper in Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui. Clear dark ruby red colour; Half finger head and beige foam which lasts about 40 seconds. Small lacing with lively carbonation; Smell of ale malt, raisin, brown sugar and dark fruits. Minimally sweet taste of light malt, with cream crackers, biscuits, toast, and very faint grass. Medium body, oily palate; Taste profile is dark, deep-tasting malt with increasing roastiness, quickly followed by dry biscuit characters, with a minimal grass to close out. Hop bitterness close to non-existent, but hint of astringency can be felt. Very dry after taste with faint note of metallic (not offensive though), easy to mouth.
Comments: I like this ale a lot because the “dark” theme is what this beer would like to show - in looks, smell and taste. Some might say it all seems dour and simple, but the minimally dark theme makes it all works out fine. Its biscuit-like dryness round it up quite beautifully. Everything is in synth. A pleasant surprise and I love it!

Strong caramel, maple and brown sugar on the aroma. Deep crimson/copper in appearance. Flavor is slightly metallic with some bitterness and notes of caramel, biscuit and molasses. Overall, I’m not too much a fan of this but, I also don’t really enjoy amber ales to begin with. I’d give this a D+ rating.

Bottle. Light amber color with foamy tan head, doughy aroma, slightly hoppy taste with a hint of citrus, average finish. A bit bland but passable ale.

Can@Home. Sweet, malty, light bitter, cherry, strawberry. Clean, easy, not bad but a bit boring.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 shoulderbroken (1145) - Tokyo, JAPAN - DEC 15, 2012
Dark copper colour, small off white head. Aroma is twiggy, resin hops,
bit of plastic. Taste is ok, but not much there. Bit of spiky maltiness, slight spiciness. Not much hop. Bit of a prickle. Not that exciting. Slight cherry and citrus fruitiness.

12oz bottle in a lager glass. Pours amber with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of pale malts and floral hops. Flavor about the same. Average texture. A decent amber ale.
