Sweet coffee and bitter chocolate on the nose. Pours black with a beige head. Bitter coffee notes upfront with roasted malts and bitter dark chocolate. The beer is bitter but finishes with a nice sweetness.

Dark brown with a thin off-white head. I swear this smells like soy sauce. Weird! Malts and dry fruit notes. Taste is predominately sweet. Medium body; mild carbonation. Weird, but I like it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

350 ml can bought at CitySuper in New Town Plaza, Shatin.

Clear, deep blackish brown colour; Half finger head and beige foam which last for 1 minute; Small sticky lacing and notable carbonation; Fragrant smoky aroma of roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, nuts, and light soy sauce. Pleasant, mid to light sweet taste of roast malt, burnt toffee, black coffee, dark chocolate, nuts, hint of metallic, strong lime and citrus, grass and hops; Mid to light body, thin but slick palate; Taste profile is very strong nutty, coffee and dark chocolate characters under the lingering spell of savory smoky malt. The shade of metallic factor is minimal and does not affect the overall taste; Hoppiness is limey grassy taste and near zero bitterness. Creamy smokiness as finish; Slightly dry after taste, very easy and tempting to mouth.

Comments: Excellent smokey character in aroma, taste and mouth feel, plus all the good chocolaty, coffee, and nutty tastes in no small supply. The only drawback is not creamy enough. A very good stout indeed. Recommended.

This beer is Creamy and tasty, when poured it is deep red with a lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of dutsy hops, straw, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel and bread, leading to a dry roasted finish where a candy note appears

Aroma is primarily dark rye with some wheat. Brownish black with a tan foam. Taste is unique with notes of rye, raisins, wheat, barley and oats. Finish is extremely dry leaving a taste of rye bread on the palate. Overall, I like this a lot. It’s a very different take on a stout. It’s nice to see a different countries take on the style. I’d give this an A rating.

I liked it, thought it was pretty good. Notes of coffee, nuts, and caramel yet it has this basic, common beer quality about it. Good mix of bitter and sweet. Ends with a sweet coffee note. Strong as well.

11.2oz bottle in an English pint. Pours dark brown with a lacy, tan head. Aroma of roasted malts and some floral hops. Flavor light on the malts. Average texture. Light in general for a stout.

Bottle at a Japanese Restaurant. Nice straightforward roasted malt flavor. Lighter body. Easy to drink.

Really bone dry, basiclaly zero sweetness whatsoever. Decent taste of roasted malts but a bit ashy/carbony too, not my thing, personally.
