2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 maekchu (167) - Hirakata, JAPAN - MAY 17, 2012
Can. Choco roast malt aromas. Dark brown (not black) with thinness at the edges, thin filmy tan head. Light chocolate flavor with a hint of coffee. Seems like an extract base. A bit thin and watery for a stout. Okay, sweet, but thin. How many times did I use the word "thin"?

Can shared by hcalsos. Dark brown body, limited clarity. Low tanned bubble head. Sweet chocolate and licorice aroma. Some pretty nice fruit tones too. More fruits in the flavor, jammy with an acidic touch. Also nice chocolatey malt profile, with some rounded burnt tones added. Feels light in the mouth. Fresh, choco-fruity finish. Very likeable.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 hcalsos (38) - NORWAY - FEB 10, 2012

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 mcmisko (276) - New York, USA - FEB 6, 2012
Pours dark brown with a tiny tan head. Smells simple, roasted malts, cocoa, and some dark fruit. Taste rich, yet very light with notes of chocolate, cola, dark fruits, and light on the hops. This is very clean and light, very much like a Japanese beer. This is not as robust as many stouts. But, I think this is very well crafted and a good example a more delicate balanced stout.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 larsga (4663) - Oslo, NORWAY - JAN 29, 2012
Small dark brown head. Dark red barely translucent body with carbonation. Deep dark chocolate aroma with earthy perfumy fruity notes. Dry-sweet chocolate and fruit taste with almond notes. Mid-bodied. Mild mouthfeel. Dry-bitter chocolate and earth aftertaste with long smoky burnt tar notes. Nice! (0.33l can shared by hcalsos.)
