2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at the brewery in Frederick. Deep brown appearance with a tan head. Aroma of toasted grains, dark fruits, nutty malts, toffee and light caramel. Similar flavor, quite fruity for a brown ale, adding notes of grape and berries. Not really what I look for in this style.

On cask at Echo poured a clear reddish brown with a small lingering tan head. Aromas of caramel, cocoa and fruitiness. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of caramel, cocoa, light fruitiness and light earthiness with a smooth lingering caramel finish.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Clear rusty amber, no head. Not even "brown". Aroma was kinda nutty and earthy but faint overall. Taste was a little light, and a little on the average-brown-ale side, with faint nuttiness and some earthy toffee sweetness.
